The Rafale fighter jet deal controversy is likely to play an important role in the upcoming Indian general elections. The Congress party is making the Rafale deal one of its main issues against the BJP. Rahul Gandhi has questioned why the contract was taken away from HAL, which has a good record, and why the price increased from 526 crore to 1600 crore rupees. The BJP government argues they finalized the deal in 14 months, while Congress failed to seal it in their 10 years in power. Both parties are now employing various political tactics using the Rafale deal in an attempt to influence voters ahead of the elections, but it remains unclear if the full truth about the deal will be revealed before the elections
2. The Rafale fighter jets controversy is all set to play a consequential
role in the upcoming general elections. It seems that the Congress
making its strategy to make this point its’ weapon for the next
general election against BJP.
3. Gandhi had the question of why contract taken away from HAL
although it has a very good record? And another thing is why the
price revised from Rs 526 crore to Rs 1,600 crore?
4. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman pointed out that it was the
Congress that fiddled around with the deal and was unable to seal
it during its 10 years in power, which jeopardised national security.
While the BJP government finalised one in 14 months.
5. After so many argument between these two parties, now the
argument is changed it’s direction from Rafale deal to gender
issues. As Rahul Gandhi said that Modi chose a woman to defend
him in the Parliament while he ran away from it.
6. The Congress and BJP are employing every trick in the political
playbook to use the Rafale issue to their advantage. Will the public
ever get to the truth of the matter? Someday certainly. But will
that happen before the general elections, which are barely a
handful of months away? That remains the big question.
7. THANK YOU
