behaviours can damage the workplace.
These are eight toxic attitudes that you
need to eliminate from your
organisation.
Lateness
Statistics show that about 40% of
Australians start work late on a
regular basis.
Lateness breeds discontentment in the
office.
Others see it and wonder why they should
bother sticking to their contracted hours.
It also has a direct effect on your results.
Narcissism
Employees who
think they can do
no wrong aren’t
open to other
people’s ideas.
Narcissists damage the collaborative
nature of the workplace.
Their attitudes prevent others from
sharing ideas that could help the
organisation.
All Talk
And
No Action
Some people are always quick to offer
advice.
But when it comes to actually doing
anything, they disappear.
These employees fail to
take initiative.
Instead, they tell others
how to do their jobs,

Passive aggressive people operate in

and start rumours.

The workplace ends up divided because people don’t
confront issues as they arise.

Has an off-colour joke ever left you feeling

effect.
The subject of the “joke” experiences a drop in
morale, which affects their results.
Humour has a place in the workplace.
However, a degree of professionalism
is important.

About Meetings
It’s true that not
every meeting is
going to set the
world alight.
But that doesn’t mean that people
can show their disdain for meetings
while they’re involved in them.
People who stop paying attention in
meetings create a bad influence.
Their attitudes suggest that the meeting
doesn’t matter. Others may pick up on this
and start treating them in the same way.
These toxic attitudes have serious effects on
the workplace.
They have the following effects:
• Slowing down communication
• Sapping morale
• Lowering productivity
• Breeding disrespect
Take appropriate disciplinary
action whenever somebody
showcases one of these toxic
behaviours.
Getting rid of toxicity creates a
better working environment for all.

  • 28. People who stop paying attention in meetings create a bad influence. Their attitudes suggest that the meeting doesn’t matter. Others may pick up on this and start treating them in the same way.
  • 29. These toxic attitudes have serious effects on the workplace.
  • 30. They have the following effects: • Slowing down communication • Sapping morale • Lowering productivity • Breeding disrespect
  • 31. Take appropriate disciplinary action whenever somebody showcases one of these toxic behaviours.
  • 32. Getting rid of toxicity creates a better working environment for all.
