2. What is hockey? Hockey is a game. It was invented in 1875. It was played on rivers and lakes. There are 2 teams. It’s played with 1 rubber puck. Two teams play against each other to get the puck in the net.
3. Rules No high sticking. Do not put your stick higher than your shoulders. No offside. Do not wait for the puck at the net. Icing is when a player shoots the puck and it gets to other side with out anyone touching it.
4. Positions The goalie stays in the net for the whole game. players play in shifts. 2 defenders keep the puck out of their teams net. 3 forwards help by scoring goals.
5. My favourite player Sidney Crosby Position: center Team: Pittsburgh Penguins Signed in to NHL: 2005 At the age of 20 Sidney became the youngest team captain in NHL history. He is a good player. He has been nicknamed “the next one”.
