2. July Memory Verse
James 1:25 NKJV
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a
forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
During World War II, when the tide began to turn in 1944, a Japanese soldier
living on the island of Guam thought that the Japanese were going to lose, so he
deserted the Japanese army and holed up in a cave in the jungle.
For 28 years, this soldier stayed in that cave, and he would only come out at
night.
He ate frogs; he ate rodents; he ate shrimp that he could catch in puddles; and
he ate wild fruit and anything he could get his hands on.
And, for 28 years, he lived as a prisoner of his fear.
Well, the war ended, and in 1972 while we were driving Toyotas, watching Sonys,
and taking vacations to Tokyo, here's this guy, living in fear, because he doesn't
know the war is over.
Friend, I want to tell you that the war is over, you don’t have to live in fear, Jesus
has won, and it is finished!
It's finished, and He's offered amnesty and forgiveness.
We can all come home - but the devil doesn't want you to know that.
The Apostle Paul says:
2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV
12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I
know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able (we have
nothing to fear) to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
Are you confident in Him and in His
ability?
Then, don't be afraid.
3. 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a
sound mind.
F-E-A-R can either mean:
Forget Everything And Run (or)
Face Everything And Rise
The choice is yours!
Faith and fear both have to do with reality.
4. Hebrews 11:1-3 AMP
Now faith is the assurance (the title deed, the confirmation) of things hoped for
(divinely guaranteed), and the (true) evidence of things not seen [the conviction
of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the
physical senses]. 2 For by this kind of faith the men of old gained divine approval.
3 By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power,
wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages)
were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended
purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things
which are visible.
Hebrews 11:1-3 AMP
You see, so many of the things we are afraid of we, are afraid of not on the basis
of reality, but because the deceiver has made us afraid and so many times,
causes us to be afraid when there is nothing to be afraid of.
Have you ever been out at night and just gotten the idea someone was behind
you?
But you didn't have any real basis for that fear.
So, listen—God gives us a sound mind.
Faith is true evidence.
Fear is false evidence.
5. 2 Timothy 1:3-14
Confidence
2 Timothy 1:3-14 NKJV
Timothy’s Faith and Heritage
3 I thank God, Whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as
without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, 4 greatly desiring
to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy,
6. 5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in
your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you
also. 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the
laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power
and of love and of a sound mind (self-control, a discerning spirit, wise
discretion).
Not Ashamed of the Gospel
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His
prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the Gospel according to the
power of God, 9 Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not
according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was
given to us in Christ Jesus before time began (beforehand), 10 but has now been
revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, Who has abolished death
(Hebrews 2:14-15) and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel,
11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the
Gentiles.
12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I
know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I
have committed to Him until that Day.
Be Loyal to the Faith
13 Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith
and love which are in Christ Jesus. 14 That good thing which was committed to
you, keep by the Holy Spirit Who dwells in us.
2 Timothy 1:3-14 NKJV
2 Timothy 1:6-7 (key verse)
6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the
laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power
and of love and of a sound mind.
7. 2 Timothy 1:6-7 TLB
6 This being so, I want to remind you to stir into flame the strength and boldness
that is in you, that entered into you when I laid my hands upon your head and
blessed you. 7 For the Holy Spirit, God’s gift, does not want you to be afraid of
people, but to be wise and strong, and to love them and enjoy being with them.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 MSG
6-7 And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and
prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold
and loving and sensible.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 CEV
6 So I ask you to make full use of the gift that God gave you when I placed my
hands on you. Use it well. 7 God’s Spirit doesn’t make cowards out of us. The Spirit
gives us power, love, and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 GNT
6 For this reason I remind you to keep alive the gift that God gave you when I
laid my hands on you. 7 For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us
timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.
“stir up the gift of God which is in you”
Timothy was the first pastor to follow Paul who had been the strong pastor of the
church at Ephesus.
Timothy had allowed fear to keep him from using the gift of preaching the
Gospel that God had given him.
Paul is encouraging Timothy to fan into flames the gift that God had given him.
The opposite of fan into flames is to quench.
8. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 NIV
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 NLT
19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 BSB
19 Do not extinguish the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 CEV
19 Don't turn away God's Spirit
1 Thessalonians 5:19 GNT
19 Do not restrain the Holy Spirit;
1 Thessalonians 5:19 ISV
19 Do not put out the Spirit's fire.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 TLB
19 Do not smother the Holy Spirit.
10. Fear!
People are afraid:
they are afraid of losing their wealth;
they are afraid of losing their health;
they are afraid of losing their friends;
they are afraid of losing their family;
they are afraid of what their foes might do to them;
they are afraid of failure.
They are afraid of this, and they are afraid of that.
Face your fear with faith and live a future free from the bondage of fear.
Hebrews 2:14-15 NIV
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so
that by His death He might break the power of him who holds the power of
death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in
slavery by their fear of death.
2 Timothy 1 instructs us on not only how to handle fear –but actually how to
conquer fear.
We are more than conquerors! (Romans 8)
Analyze fear, because not all fear is bad:
some fear is good, and
some fear is productive and
some fear is of God Himself.
11. “There is nothing to fear but fear itself” (FDR) is untrue as long as there are
rattlesnakes, drunken drivers, rapists and muggers.
Fear is a productive, protective mechanism that God has put into all of us.
There is nothing wrong with that kind of fear, it is very vital.
It is good and it is an instinct that God has put into us to help protect us, but
when we are talking about fear this morning, we’re not talking about that kind of
fear.
There are other kinds of fear and on one occasion Jesus literally told us to fear.
Matthew 10:28 KJV
28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but
rather fear Him Who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell."
If a person is not saved, then they've got something huge to be afraid of.
They are facing a future without God and they've got a lot to be afraid of.
Jesus said they ought to be afraid.
Some say, "We should not be frightening people into religion."
Well, it is better to frighten them into Heaven than to lull them into Hell.
The Bible also speaks of the fear of the Lord—that's a good fear.
The Bible says, in the Book of Proverbs, that: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning
of wisdom." (Proverbs 9:10)
Wisdom – Seeing things from God’s point of view.
12. The fear of the Lord – Realizing that God is watching every thought, deed,
attitude and action that I do.
When you start being aware of His constant presence, you start seeing things
from His point of view.
You don't have a modicum (not even a tiny grain) of sense unless you fear the
Lord.
To fear the Lord doesn't mean that you cringe before God—that's not the idea.
The Bible word for fear here means "reverence."
Reverential awe!
You're to reverence the Lord.
You have a holy respect for God.
An electrician has to have a healthy fear of electricity if he is going to have a lot
of longevity on the job.
That doesn't mean that he trembles every time he goes to work but it does mean
that he knows what's in those wires and respects it.
He has a respect for that power.
That's the idea of the fear of the Lord and there's no competition between
fearing God and loving God.
The man who fears God the most loves Him the best!
13. The fear of the LORD
Leads to life. Proverbs 19:23
Prolongs life. Proverbs 10:27
Is a fountain of life. Proverbs 14:27
Is strong confidence. Proverbs 14:26
Psalm 19:9 NKJV
9 The fear of the Lord is clean (pure), enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
Psalm 128:1 NKJV
1 Blessed is every one who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.
Psalm 147:10-11 NLT
10 He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse
or in human might.
11 No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him,
those who put their hope in his unfailing love.
The fear of the Lord is a very productive fear.
God has set us free and faith can face fear and overcome it.
So, we're not talking about “the fear of the Lord” - that kind of fear; we're talking
about something that the Bible calls, “the spirit of fear”.
14. The fear of man made King Saul a coward while the fear of God made David a
hero when he went against Goliath.
15. The spirit of fear (verse 7) is deeply damaging, destructive, and debilitating.
The Bible speaks of the bondage of fear and we need to see:
a) The destructive power of the spirit of fear.
b) The delivering power of the spirit of faith.
A. The Destructive Power of the Spirit of Fear.
1. Fear and Forgetfulness.
2. Fear and Failure.
3. Fear and Frailty.
Thank God that Paul doesn't just tell us the problem, but he also gives us the
Answer.
He's giving Timothy the answer; but, when he is giving Timothy the answer, he is
also giving you and me the answer.
Paul says;
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.
Here are the three elements that you take and put in your life—these three
things: power, love, and a sound mind—and you can have a future free from -
not all fears - but free from the bondage of fear.
16. B. The Delivering Power of the Spirit of Faith.
1. God has Endued Us with Power.
2. God Enriches Us with the Sprit of Love. (Romans 5:5)
3. God Enlightens Us with a Sound Mind.
A. The Destructive Power of the Spirit of Fear.
1. Fear and Forgetfulness.
2. Fear and Failure.
3. Fear and Frailty.
1. Fear and Forgetfulness.
Notice the Apostle Paul says to Timothy:
2 Timothy 1:6 NKJV
6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the
laying on of my hands.
The idea is that fear had caused Timothy to forget.
When you focus on fear, then, that takes all of the blue out of the sky, and you
don't see—you don't understand who you are or what God can do through you.
Fear causes you to forget all of the blessings of God.
If you are afraid today, your fear has developed because you’ve forgotten Who
God is and what God has done for you.
17. A. The Destructive Power of the Spirit of Fear.
1. Fear and Forgetfulness.
2. Fear and Failure.
3. Fear and Frailty.
2. Fear and Failure.
Let’s talk not only about fear and forgetfulness—verse 6, but also about fear
and failure—verse 8.
2 Timothy 1:8 KJV
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his
prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the
power of God;
Timothy had failed to share Christ, and he'd failed to stand up for the Apostle
Paul.
Why?
Paul was in Mamertine prison, and Timothy was afraid of what might happen to
himself.
Fear had shut his mouth, and fear had paralyzed him.
When we ought to succeed, many us fail for one reason: because we've listened
to that sinister minister of fear—the devil, rather than listening to God; and, that
spirit of fear has paralyzed us—no matter how gifted we are.
Remember, there was one man who said, "I took Your talent, Lord, and I hid it in
the ground, because I was afraid" (Matthew 25:25).
How much buried talent there may be this morning!
18. God is going to ask you two questions:
1) What did you do with My Son?
2) What did you do with what I gave you?
Some of us will never use that God-given talent because of fear and because of
being ashamed of the testimony of the Lord.
Most Christians want to be soul winners.
Do you know the major thing that keeps people from witnessing?
It is not that they don't want to see people be saved and it is not that they don't
want to be used of God.
The major thing that shuts the mouth of most of us is fear.
A. The Destructive Power of the Spirit of Fear.
1. Fear and Forgetfulness.
2. Fear and Failure.
3. Fear and Frailty.
3. Fear and Frailty.
Fear can literally sicken us and weaken our bodies?
Paul says to Timothy:
1 Timothy 5:23 KJV
23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine
often infirmities.
Here was a man who was often sickly.
Was he afraid because he was sickly?
Perhaps so.
But it is more reasonable to say that he was sickly because he was afraid.
He probably had a fearful disposition.
A fearful disposition literally made him sick.
A well-known American internist said at a roundtable discussion on
psychosomatic medicine, "90% of the chronic patients have one common
problem—their trouble did not start with a cough, chest pain, or an allergy. In
90% of the cases, the first symptom was fear."
19. Fear!
For example, physicians tell us that an arthritic condition may be exacerbated—
greatly inflamed—because of worry and fear.
Worry is a terrible thing.
You can worry yourself sick.
Jesus, speaking of the last days, said that one of the marks of the last days
would be this: that men's hearts would fail them for fear — heart failure because
of fear.
People who are carrying a load of fear actually have heart failure and physical
problems because of fear.
Fear in your life is like sand in the machinery.
Faith in your life is like oil—it lubricates life.
Fear will do the same thing to you that sand will do to machinery.
20. The Bible speaks of the bondage of fear and we need to see:
a) The destructive power of the spirit of fear.
b) The delivering power of the spirit of faith.
There is a difference between legitimate fear and the spirit of fear.
Legitimate fear is like a thunderstorm: the lightning flashes; the thunder rolls; the
water pours down; then, the storm passes, the clouds roll back, and the sun
shines again.
But the spirit of fear is just like a constant darkness—a fog that never lifts, the sun
seldom shines.
You live in it.
God has not given you that kind of spirit.
That's not productive—that's negative; that's unreasonable.
The spirit of fear does not help to make us what we ought to be.
What is it that we ought to be?
21. Romans 8:29 NLT
29 For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His
Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
1 John 3:2b NKJV
2b but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see
Him as He is.
Get to know Jesus.
We will be like Him so when we get to know Him, we are getting to know who we
are becoming and who our spouse is becoming and who our children and
grandchildren are becoming.
He wants us all to become like Him but we are not to become clones of each
other.
Each facet on a diamond reflects the light differently.
Like a diamond, allow Him to place you into a new setting!
Get to know Him now in order to better understand who you are now and who
you are becoming.
As your children and grandchildren try to find themselves, teach them the key is
to find Him!
22. B. The Delivering Power of the Spirit of Faith.
1. God has Endued Us with Power.
2. God Enriches Us with the Sprit of Love. (Romans 5:5)
3. God Enlightens Us with a Sound Mind.
1. God has Endued Us with Power.
God gives us three things and they will enable you to have a future free from
the bondage of fear.
First of all, God has endued us with power.
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a
sound mind.
Jesus said:
Luke 24:49 NKJV
49 “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of
Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
The power that He's talking about is the power of the Holy Spirit of God.
Do you know why we are afraid when we are afraid?
We're afraid that we do not have the resources to meet our enemy.
If we have a foe that we feel is bigger than we are, then we are afraid.
If we understand that we have greater strength than our foe, then there is no
need for us to be afraid.
For example, when you were a little kid, if you walked home from school, and
there was a big bully who picked on you, then you might have been afraid to
walk home from school.
Dr. Rogers remembered that he used to have a kid who picked on him.
The bully that picked on him made him afraid, and every day this bully followed
him home from school, just picking on him and picking at him.
Adrian was scared to death!
23. One day, Adrian decided he'd had enough, and he turned around, and told her,
"You leave me alone!"
If you were walking home from school and there was somebody who was
picking on you, but your Daddy began walking home from school with you, then
you would no longer be afraid.
Because, greater is he that is with you than the guy who's picking on you.
Now, listen:
1 John 4:4 KJV
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he
that is in you, than he that is in the world.
You see, if you have the spirit of fear, then it is because you have not focused on
the Lord.
You have forgotten the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of hands or by
whatever means God has come upon you and gifted you.
So, dear friends, remember that God has given us the spirit of power.
"Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world." (1 John 4:4)
That's the reason why the psalmist puts it this way, and this is such a beautiful
psalm—in Psalm 27, and verse 1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom
shall I fear?"
• There's a lot of sense in that, isn't there?
24. Psalm 27:1 KJV
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
You see, God has given us the spirit of power—that is, the Lord is the strength of
our life.
• Now, the fear of God, therefore, removes all other fears.
• The man who can kneel before God can stand before any man.
Now, first of all, on your check list:
• Are we remembering God's power, shown to us?
• Do we know just how great our God is?
We need to glimpse at our problems but gaze at our God.
B. The Delivering Power of the Spirit of Faith.
1. God has Endued Us with Power.
2. God Enriches Us with the Sprit of Love. (Romans 5:5)
3. God Enlightens Us with a Sound Mind.
2. God Enriches Us with the Sprit of Love.
Secondly, not only has God given us the spirit of power, but God has also
given us the spirit of love.
Love, also, is a mighty, mighty force to deal with fear.
Now, how does love deal with fear?
Well, the Bible tells us very clearly how love deals with fear, in 1 John 4:18.
1 John 4:18a KJV
18a There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
25. That verse used to bother Adrian.
It didn't help him much at all.
He used to interpret that verse to mean that, if he loved God perfectly, then he
wouldn't be afraid.
Then, he said, "Well, I don't do anything perfectly, except sin, so how is that
going to help me?"
The Bible verse doesn't mean that, if I love God perfectly, then I won't be afraid.
It literally means that I don't have to be afraid, because Jesus loves me
perfectly.
In The Living Bible, (a paraphrase), it amplifies beautifully what the Scripture says
in 1 John 4:18:
1 John 4:18a TLB
18a We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly;
Do you see it?
We have no need for the fear of Someone Who loves us perfectly.
His perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what He might do to us.
If we are afraid, it is for fear of what He might do, and it proves that we are not
fully convinced that He really loves us.
1 John 4:17-19 MSG
17-18 God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live
in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at
home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our
standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear.
26. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of
death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.
19 We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now
we love. He loved us first.
1 John 4:17-19 MSG
Friend, when you see, on the one hand, God's mighty power, and, on the other,
God's mighty love, then fears seem to melt away.
Amen?
God endues us with power.
God enriches us with love.
Now, just rest in that love.
Say, "Lord, no matter what happens to me, I know that I know that You love me.
And, because You love me, and because You are all powerful, ‘All things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according
to His purpose.’” (Romans 8:28)
B. The Delivering Power of the Spirit of Faith.
1. God has Endued Us with Power.
2. God Enriches Us with the Sprit of Love. (Romans 5:5)
3. God Enlightens Us with a Sound Mind.
3. God Enlightens Us with a Sound Mind.
There's one other thing that is necessary—not only does God endue us with
power, not only does God enrich us with love, but God also enlightens us with
a sound mind.
Because, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but, number one, a spirit of
power; number two, a spirit of love; and, number three, a spirit of a sound mind.
Now, these words sound mind literally mean that God has given us discipline—or
self-control, or a discerning spirit.
"Wise discretion"—that's what the words sound mind mean.
27. You see, so many of the things we are afraid of we are afraid of not on the basis
of reality, but because the deceiver has made us afraid.
The motivational speaker Zig Ziglar says, "Fear is often false evidence appearing
real."
Indeed, it is, and the devil, so many times, causes us to be afraid when there is
nothing to be afraid of.
You know, the Bible says:
Proverbs 28:1a KJV
1a The wicked flee when no man pursueth:
Have you ever been out at night and just gotten the idea someone was behind
you?
• But you didn't have any real basis for that fear.
• Now, listen—God gives us a sound mind.
We are able to take these things and to look at them in the clear light of God's
Word.
And, many times, you have to take yourself by the nape of the neck and make
yourself analyze these things.
You see, we have to look past what might happen to us in the immediate
moment and see that God is ultimately victorious.
28. That's what Paul did, in 2 Timothy 1:12—he says:
2 Timothy 1:12 KJV
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:
for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that
which I have committed unto him against that day.
"Now, Timothy, you're ashamed of the testimony of our Lord."
"I'm not ashamed."
"Why?"
"Because, I know in Whom I have believed. I am persuaded that He is able to
keep me."
Now, that's a sound mind, right?
That's a sound mind.
He wasn't blown away by all of these things that the devil was doing.
Now, he had a commitment—a faith in the Lord Jesus.
Hebrews 11:1-3 AMP
1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for
(divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of
their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the
physical senses]. 2 For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine]
approval.
29. Hebrews 11:1-3 MSG
1-2 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm
foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what
we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above
the crowd.
3 By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see
created by what we don’t see.
Hebrews 11:1-3 MSG
Hebrews 11:1-3 TLB
1 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to
happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though
we cannot see it up ahead. 2 Men of God in days of old were famous for their
faith.
3 By faith—by believing God—we know that the world and the stars—in fact, all
things—were made at God’s command; and that they were all made from
things that can’t be seen.
Hebrews 11:1-3 TLB
Romans 1:16 NKJV
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to
salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
The Plan of Hope & Salvation
John 3:16 NKJV
16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
30. John 14:6 NKJV

Father except through Me.”
Romans 3:23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23a NKJV
23a For the wages of sin is death,
• Death in this life (the first death) is 100%.
• Even Jesus, the only one who doesn’t deserve death, died in this life to
pay the penalty for our sins.
• The death referred to in Romans 6:23a is the second death explained in
Revelation 21:8.
Revelation 21:8 NKJV
8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with
fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
• Anyone who’s lifestyle is one or more of the sins listed in Revelation 21:8,
will experience the “second death” if they do not repent.
• To Repent means to turn around, to go in the opposite direction, to turn
away from sin and to come to Jesus.
Romans 6:23b NKJV
23b but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
Revelation 21:7 NKJV
7 “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be
My son.”
• Romans 10:9-10 explains to us how to be overcomers.
Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that
God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one
believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
31. Romans 10:13 NKJV
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
