1. Samantha Ploeger
Kohl's specialize as a department store chain selling
products including Clothing, footwear, bedding, furniture,
housewares, jewelry, electronics and housewares.
My name is Samantha Ploeger and I did
my internship with Kohl’s in Fargo. My
role in the internship was to learn the
skills to be a store management. The task
I was given varied from packing shipment
orders, unloading the freight trucks, and
even all the way from running store
huddles where we talked about sales.
With this internship I was challenged and
pushed out of my comfort zone. I worked
parts of retail that I didn't’t even know
existed. For my special project I was
given a planogram by corporate and was
to transition a part of the store from
outdoor themed to a new display for
back to school. This allowed me to use
the knowledge I learned in visual
merchandising to create a well put
together display (below).
