fish they begin as Polyp.
• There is five steps to them being a
actual jelly fish Polyp, budding
polyp, ephyra, medusa, and planula
larva.
• Medusa is the final transformation,
that is what you would imagine
when you think jellyfish.
3. *Food*
• Smaller jelly fish are usually the first to be eaten
by other animals like turtles & sunfish.
• Humans see mushroom pickled jelly fish is a
delicacy.
• Most of that kind of food like jelly fish is really
popular in Asia.
4. *Venom*
• When jelly fish sting a thread like
Coil dashes out to the prey.
• They also use there tentacles to
sting & use paralyze toxins.
• The severity or strength of the sting
depends on what species or kind of jellyfish.
5. *Local Jellyfish*
• Cannonball, Lion’s Mane , Mushroom, Southern
Moon, Sea Nettle, Sea Wasp, Portuguese Man-
of-War are are local jellyfish.
• But all these Jellyfish are highly
venomous so people should look out for them.
• They usually drift up to the shores of North
Carolina.
6. *Treatment of Sting*
• When stung by a jellyfish remove tentacles
because if not removed venom will still be
injected.
• There are some things that can help a sting like
meat tenderizer, sugar, vinegar, plant juices &
sodium bicarbonate.
• If you are stung really bad recovery make take
up to 7 minutes or even 7 weeks.
