6. EARLY LIFE
Baichung bhutia was born in agricultural family. Both of his
parents were farmers in sikkim and were originally not
keen on bhutias interest in sports. His father died but after
the encouragement from his uncle karma bhutia started
his education in S.T Xaviors school payyong,East sikkim.
7. Football career
At the age of nine he won a football scholarship from SAI to attend
the Tashi Namgyal Academy in gangtok. He went on to play for
several schools and local club in his home state of sikkim including
gangtok based boys club which was managed by karma. His
performance at the 1992 suborto Cup where he won the BEST
PLAYER award,brought him notice of the football establishmen.
8. MANAGERIAL CAREER
On 13 November 2012, bhutia was name the interim managerof United
sikkim to replace Belgian Phillipe the rider after the clubs heavy 1-10
defeat in an I league match against Prayag United on 10 November2012
at the salt lake stadium. In January 2018 leading upto the santosh
trophy he was appointedthe manager
Of sikkim.
9. INTERNATIONAL CAREER
Bachinng made his senior international debut in the
nehru Cup against Thailand at the age of 19 on 10
March 1995. Bhutia scored for India against Uzbekistan
in the 1995 nehru Cup becoming Indians youngest ever
goalscorer at the age of 19.

1.In January 2018 he was appointed as the manger of sikkim.
2. On 31 May 2018 he established a new party HAMARO SIKKIM PARTY after the break
up with TMC.
3. On 13 November 2012 he was named as the interim manger of United sikki.
4.On 24 August 2011 he announced retirement from international footbal.
5. Bhutia received ARJUNA award in 1999.
