At 0ºC, sound travels at about a
speed of 332 m/s in air. As the
temperature rises, the speed of sound
increases at the rate of about 0.6 m/s
for everyone Celsius degree rise in
temperature.

10. Doppler Effect
•a phenomenon when the source of
sound approaches you, you hear a
sound with a high pitch; thus,
when the source of sound passes
you by, the pitch becomes lower.
