3. A Great Work
A great work is to be done in setting before
men the saving truths of the Gospel. To
present these truths is the work of the
third angel’s message. The Lord designs
that the presentation of this message shall
be the highest, greatest work carried on in

4. The Whole Gospel
The whole of the Gospel is embraced in the
third angel’s message, and in all our work the
truth is to be presented as it is in Jesus. In the
preaching of the word the first and most
important thing is to melt and subdue the
soul by presenting the Lord Jesus Christ as
the sin-pardoning Saviour. { AUCR June 1,

5. With Great Power
The gospel message for this time is comprised
in the third angel’s message, which embraces
the messages of the first and second angel,
and which is to be proclaimed everywhere; for
it is present truth. This message is to go forth
with great distinctness and power. It is not to
be clouded by human theories and
sophistries. { 1MR 57.2 }

6. Intensified
The third angel’s message is to be given with
power. The power of the proclamation of the
first and second messages is to be intensified
in the third. In the Revelation John says of the
heavenly messenger who unites with the third
angel: “I saw another angel come down from
heaven, having great power; and the earth was
lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily
with a strong voice.” Revelation 18:1-2. {6T 60.1}

7. A Certain Sound
We are in danger of giving the third
angel’s message in so indefinite a manner
that it does not impress the people. So
many other interests are brought in that
the very message which should be
proclaimed with power becomes tame
and voiceless. …. The trumpet is to give a

8. We are to keep before the people the cross of
Calvary. We should teach them that Christ’s
death was caused by the transgression of the
law of God; that Christ died to give men an
opportunity of becoming loyal subjects of
His kingdom. Never should a sermon be
preached, or Bible instruction in any line be
given, without pointing the hearers to the
Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the

Faith is the expecting that the word of

29. To us today, as verily as to the first disciples, the promise
of the Spirit belongs. God will today endow men and
women with power from above, as He endowed those who
on the Day of Pentecost heard the word of salvation. At
this very hour His Spirit and His grace are for all who need
them and will take Him at His word. { 8T 20.3}

30. Let Christians put away all dissension and give themselves
to God for the saving of the lost. Let them ask in faith for
the promised blessing, and it will come. The outpouring
of the Spirit in the days of the apostles was “the former
rain,” and glorious was the result. But the latter rain will

31. Greatest Importance
The theme of greatest importance is the third
angel’s message, embracing the messages of
the first and second angels. All should
understand the truths contained in these
messages; for they are essential to salvation.
We shall have to study earnestly in order to
understand these truths; and our power to
