townhouse with gleaming metal cabinets in green. The cabinets pick up the veining in
the countertops, making the marble appear greener.

Custom cabinetry in Benjamin Moore's high gloss super white is topped with counters made of
crystallized glass by glassos.
7. Hidden Appliances
In a Mount Kisco, New York, farmhouse kitchen designed by Young Huh, Shaker-style cabinets by
Plain & Fancy, painted Teresa's Green by Farrow & Ball, have a wonderfully old-fashioned but
surprisingly fresh look. The Miele dishwasher has a cabinet front, so it doesn't break up the line
of cabinetry under the counter.
8. White Cabinets With Glass Knobs
Designer Mick De Giulio added extra to the 2012 kitchen of the year in New York with glass-and-
nickel cabinet knobs. They're refined but also "have a little glitter" to them.
9. An Industrial Look
Dan Doyle used salvaged wood, raw steel, and glazed brick to give a St. Helena, California,
kitchen a sturdy, industrial look. Cabinetry is painted Benjamin Moore's Kingsport Gray.
10. Think Upward
Home Depot designer Emily O'Keefe added cabinetry with period charm to this small kitchen.
"Since space was tight, I went up, stacking the cabinets," she says. "The ceilings are 11 feet high,
but not every cabinet touches the ceiling — that way they look more like furniture."
