2009, 2011 Two election monitoring projects in
Latvia: parliamentary Elections (2011);
municipal Elections (2009).
Training seminars before activities of
projects. Evaluation seminars at the end
of projects. Students were trained to
gather information and investigate
potential media corruption cases during
the pre-election time in Latvia. They did
both media content analysis and
information gathering through
observation process of elections (taking
photos of political materials, doing
interviews and observing possible illegal
political activities etc.).
2003 – 2013 Seminars and practical trainings within
classes at the University of Latvia. For
example: information gathering methods,
journalistic research methods,
interviewing techniques, observation
techniques, usage of databases and
different technological possibilities
during the process of information
gathering, work with different kind of
archives, story telling approaches, using
hidden cameras and microphone,
journalism ethics, using and protecting
different information sources, verifying
the gathered information, broadcast
production approaches, the role of
media independence, media ownership.
