The nominee Roger Smith was assigned with the tasks for leading, developing and sustaining the
Offboard Mission Support (OMS) administration training for the F-35. This nominee has acquired unique
platform knowledge and skill sets derived from four years of direct SME integration and administration
collaboration. This was accomplished through onsite visits, working groups and several years of direct

tasks unique for this environment and has the complex understanding of this operational environment.
Roger has exhibited the unique knowledge required for training development by performing the
necessary administration activities as well as developing the instructional guidance required for this
training.
I have had the pleasure of working with him for 4 years in the ALIS Infrastructure Training (AIT) training
department, where he has been entrusted with a great deal of intercompany coordination and
communication. I have had the opportunity to observe Roger's professional skills as well as

7. To Whom It May Concern:
Roger Smith has been a frequent collaborator with the ALIS Integration team. His training content
development needs require that he interact early in the release cycle to look at forthcoming capabilities
and interfaces. Roger’s coordination for access to ALIS test environments has been critical to his team’s
ability to produce correct materials for the training realm.
Based on Roger’s demeanor and ability to convey his needs concisely (even under schedule pressure),
he is able to forge a positive relationship with the ALIS Integration team. Partnerships are what F35
ALIS is based on and Roger lives that example. He is cognizant of the saturation of other people’s
schedules and does his best to work around or in parallel with them.
Roger appreciates the urgency of situations and conveys his thanks on many occasions to the efforts of
those that support him and his team. It is a pleasure to work with someone who (Roger) is dedicated to
quality products and interested in team cohesiveness.
Sincerely,
