3. CONCUSSIONS
The thought of choosing my presentation to be based on concussions; was the extent,
the last few years of concussions and how they had come about from former players or
boxers. Players from 10-20 plus years back were reporting their concussions after the
fact; and if reported, doctors weren’t giving them the correct treatment for them to
heal correctly. Also, within the last few years multiple players have passed away from
brain injuries stemming from concussions. Me being an athlete, I have to be aware of
these kind of things and also need other athletes to be aware of them.
4. BE CAREFUL
You have to be very weary of concussions for multiple reasons: Concussions can take
control of your entire life. Getting a concussion can permanently bother your brain
and its functions. You have constant headaches and can’t be outside in light. Also, a lot
of people want to involve their kids in sports such as football, boxing or even rugby.
Constant contact sports are the worst for anyone. Never knowing how your body is
reacting to these things and not knowing the risk they are involving their child in.
Concussions don’t have an age limit at all. It is very risky
5. Levels of Seriousness
58% of NFL players have been reported at some point in their careers to be
concussed.
A former test shows that 96% of nfl players brain that were tested in 2013 were
positive of some form of CTE.
40% of NFL players suffers from traumatic brain injuries.
