OBJECTIVE: To have a secure job position, with the possibility of advancement within the
Structure of the company or agency, also to improve the quality of life for my family
and for myself.
QUALIFICATIONS : I have been in the field of law enforcementfor 20 years, as a Reserve Police Officer for
the City of Gary, Gary Police Department,hold the rank of Captain.
I have the required training that the city and state mandates under the Indiana State
Code (36-8-3-20) and as set forth in Indian Code (5-2-1-9) for reserve officers to establish them with
full police powers ofarrest. That’s the 40 hour pre basic,420 hours of road training with a certified
field-training officer of the Gary Police Department,also 216 hours ofclassroom training byofficers
whom are qualified by the Indiana Law EnforcementAcademy and a number of in house training
classes thatis provided by the Gary Police Department. As a reserve officer we were required to have
32 hours ofyearly recertification training,(the 16 that was requires bythe State of Indiana,but also
16 hours thatwas required by the Gary Police Department).
On February 2nd
, 1994 I was sworn in by the Mayor of Gary and the Board of Public
Works as prescribe under Indiana law as an active officer with the Gary Police Department.During
the years with the Gary Police Department I did standard patrol duties, I also became a
Certified traffic officer doing Indiana crash reports on midnights for 3 years. For 10 years
I was hired and assigned to the Gary Housing Authority working with the Drug Taskforce
Unit working evening in the Housing Developments, I became the daytime unit supervisor for
4 years having 5 officers working under me doing field investigations and responding to all

2. calls within all the developments. Myself and the 5 officers were members of the Immediate
Action Rapid Response Team for the Gary Housing Drug Taskforce working together with
The US Marshal services and the Gary Response Investigating Team (GRIT) recovering
Fugitives on felony warrants within the Gary Housing Developments.
I am an academy certified Field Training Officer , and a Field Training Program Manager.
I also hold a Special Deputy Sheriff Commission under Sheriff John Buncich (Badge #742)
Thru the Lake County Sheriff Department, Lake County, Indiana.
I’m a veteran of the armed forces ( U.S, NAVY) from 1969 to 1972 during the Vietnam conflict
and discharges with an Honorable Discharge.
I an a member of the National Association of Field Training Officers (NAFTO), also a member
Of the National Reserve Law Officers Association (NRLOA), In 1994 1nd 1999 I was name
(OFFICER of the YEAR) for the reserve Police Division of the Gary Police Department, I’m also
A member of the American Legion Post 100 in Lake Station, Indiana.
