1. Dear Hiring Manager,
I would like to use this opportunity to highlight some of the soft skills I have developed to date during my career.
Who am I?
- I am passionate about Service Delivery and Customer Satisfaction. I have been doing this type of work
during my whole career.
- I treat people the way I would like to be treated. Same applies to the level of service I provide my colleagues
and customers.
- I'm a bridge builder, I enjoy building my network and reaching out and engaging other teams and individuals
as required. I always take other individual views into consideration to ensure I do not have tunnel vision when
dealing with a specific issue.
- I have a genuine interest in learning from people. I like to know how things work, whether it is a new system,
process or piece of hardware.
- I am unapologetically a tech nerd and early adopter. My home is ubuntu, centos,
windows XP/7/8, macbook, ipod, MotoG, iPhone, Android tablets, linux voip box (no more Bell Canada
bills), OTA television, Miracast hdmi dongle, etc...
- I build solid relationships and trust with individuals so that they want to work with me again.
- I regularly volunteer and work independently outside my comfort zone. For example, I volunteered to
administer our Service Delivery and main IT Home page and taught myself SharePoint. I also developed an IT
dashboard and trained myself to use Salesforce. I also volunteered to represent GENBAND during important
customer security audits. I was tasked with responding to all IT specific audit questions for network access,
storage and archiving, user security controls, work from home implications and other IT specific processes.
- I do what I say I will do. You give me a project or task and I run with it. I also look at the big picture when
working a project or issue. For example, if I apply a certain solution to fix problem A, will I break XYZ?
- I have a solid technical footing and a good debugging methodology. Also, if I don't know the answer I
“google” it.
In conclusion, I am enthusiastic to learn more regarding any position you may have to offer. Should I meet your
