To ensure posting of all relevant entries from branches through divisional accounts; preparation and
distribution of monthly financial Inter-company statements; maintenance and reconciliation of all inter-
company accounts; cash management for all bank accounts within the European division; preparation of
bank reconciliations and cash flows; preparation of general ledger journals including Inter-company
accruals; preparation of VAT reports and National Statistics reports; country accountant duties which
include reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Special achievements:
• Implemented new control procedures through the creation of reports and liaison with the
accounts payable, accounts receivable and project teams, as well as the divisional Inter-
company accountants, in order to ensure the reduction of outstanding transactions and overall
balances for all Inter-company reconciliations on a monthly basis. Over the course of 4 months,
the outstanding transactions and balances were reduced from a monthly average of 200-300
transactions to 20-40 and from a monthly average of $400,000 to $40,000 for the main inter-
company reconciliations.
• Successful cash management of all 50 accounts for all countries in the European division with a
level of £20-25m, with close liaison with the account payable and accounts receivable teams to
better predict cash forecasts and transfer surplus funds to the Corporate office.
• Assisted with the transition of all accounts from RBS to Citibank as well as the implementation of
automated cash sweeping for EUR and USD accounts in order to facilitate the cash
management within the European division.
