Reviews on Rebecca Kotraba (Feibel)
An Act of the Imagination (Brenda/Brooke/Phoebe, BCTheatre)
Theater Bloom
“Feibel-Kotraba accomplishes the daunting task of constructing two completely fleshed out characters
who have very brief on-stage encounters with the other players. Her dedication and commitment to the
nuances of these characters, both defining them from each other as well as delineating them from the
ordinary players of the show, is impressive. Her overall performance is solid and really captivates the
audience, particularly when it comes to her ownership of the space, the way she struts about it as
Brenda, or tiptoes about it as Brooke, and her overall sense of mindfulness.”
DCMetroArts
“Brenda Simmons (Rebecca Feibel-Kotraba) is a force to be reckoned with – with her Romanesque
physique, fiery red hair, and Cockney accent. This character bursts onto the scene to offer a confession
and alibi for Arthur but there is more to Brenda. Feibel-Kotraba delivers a spirited performance.”
Hello Dolly! (Ernestina, 2nd
Star Productions)
DCMETROARTS
“Exceptional cameo character performances include those given by Rebecca Feibel (Ernestina Money),
Emily Freeman (Ermengarde), and Tim Sayles (Rudolph). Feibel plays up the wildly fiendish shenanigans
of the hoochie-coochie character with a vibrant zest”
Bay Weekly
“Feibel wrangles the laughs with her bumptious shenanigans.”
MDTheatreGuide
“ It is at the restaurant where Ernestina Money, played by the funny and remarkable Rebecca Feibel, is
having dinner with Mr. Vandergelder. Ernestina is bawdy and definitely not Mr. Vandergelder’s type.
However, her shiny pink satin dress with yellow and pink boas suits her character’s personality.”
Annie (Miss Hannigan, Colonial Players)
DcMetroArts
“Featured in that scene, and all throughout the show, is the horrible tyrant Miss Hannigan (Rebecca
Feibel). There is a charming humanity layered into Feibel’s presentation of Hannigan, so much so that
when she presents her stellar solo “Little Girls” you almost feel bad for her. Feibel plays the character
with a flavorful zest, a spirited rendition that makes her ‘medicine drinking’ habit most enthralling.
Feibel brings a little extra zing to the disgruntled woman, her sharp tongue really doing a number on
some of the one-liners, adding extra laughs here and there”
Pasadena Voice
“Feibel doesn’t disappoint in her delivery of cruelty with an edge of humor. She balances
nastiness with camp as she stumbles drunkenly, slurring her words, barking at the children she so
despises. Her voice is well-suited for the song “Little Girls,” and she relishes the chance to let loose in all
the hilarious wickedness of it all.”
The Baltimore Sun
“Among the adult characters, Rebecca Feibel as Miss Hannigan is a standout, realizing the dimentionality
of this survivor trapped in a job she dislikes, frequently in need of her “medicine” from her flask and
searching for romance on radio soap operas. Feibel shines in her solo, “Little Girls”, expressing
Hannigan’s annoyance at the orphans surrounding her”
Camelot (Morgan Le Fey, 2nd
Star Productions)
DCMetroArts
“ Paxton as the bewitching Nymph swoops onto the stage with her gossamer wings and siren’s voice,
making her brief appearance a more than memorable one.The same can be said of Morgan LeFey
(Rebecca Feibel). As the obstinate and haughty Queen of the Faeries, Feibel has a sassy attitude that
becomes a force to be reckoned with, and despite her icy demeanor has a kind notion of right and
wrong. Playing opposite her bratty nephew Mordred (Michael Mathes) she makes a cunning bargain
during “The Persuasion” which showcases her ability to deliver metered rhyming prose”
Bay Weekly
“ Feibel is sensuous and spineless in The Persuasion.”
Oklahoma! (Aunt Eller, 2nd
Star Productions)
DCMETROARTS
“Then there’s Aunt Eller (Rebecca Feibel). The roughest old salt out in the territory, Feibel holds her won
against the dainty sopranos and the rugged tenors. She certainly stirs things up during “The Farmer and
the Cowman” and gets a big belt or two in for good measure. And her boisterous ways of know-how
reflect to perfection when she comes hollerin’ down to the smokehouse. Her lungs were made for
shoutin’ that’s the truth as far as the day is long.”
Captial-Gazette
“Tough as nails but with a heart of gold surely describes Aunt Eller, played with absolute brilliance by
Rebecca Feibel”
The Baltimore Sun
“Sparkling in secondary roles are 2nd Star players like Rebecca Feibel, who portrays Aunt Eller, a farm
woman of simple wisdom and strong presence who guides niece Laurey and firmly orders farmhands
and cowmen to complete chores. Feibel belts out several songs, shining most notably in "The Farmer
and the Cowman."
