MARKET WRAP
Nifty was closed green up 1.16%, Sensex was closed green up 1.19% Last week.
Last week US prelim GDP q/q 2.5% and US Unemployment claims 331k.
Euro & U.S markets were green; while Asian markets were red last week.
Indian equity markets ended green on Friday on this week the Sensex and Nifty
were in consolidate trend. Major sector which were up like METAL Index, POWER Index
METAL and Top Gainers are Sesa Goa (up 21.15%), HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up
15.30%), TCS (up 14.29%), DR REDDYS (up 8.74%), BHEL (up 10.75%), AMBUJA
CEMENT (up 8.61%) & HERO MOTOCORP (up 7.77%). Technically Nifty may expected
to up from this point or a short term range bound this week; Nifty this week may range
5300-5700.
On the economic front, Central banks tend to study the price stability objective in terms
of CPI as it is considered to be a better indicator of the cost of living, RBI says WPI
inflation for all commodities for July 2013 increased to 5.79% from 4.86% in the last
month, Agriculture GDP stood at 2.7% vs 1.4% QoQ while industry grew at 0.2%
It was a highly volatile week yet again as Nifty hit a low of 5,119 before staging a
recovery to close above 5,450. The movement of the exchange rate of the Indian Rupee
recently has been a matter of concern. The biggest issue staring at the face of the
government is the poor management of food storage.
