3. Let’s look at a case
When Mr. Kamlesh Dixit took over as the
team leader of a software project his sole
aim was to boost the team's productivity.
He was a strong believer in the principles
of unity and cooperation. Right from the
day one he advised all the members of the
team to avoid any sort of dispute and
ensure a happy and peaceful work culture.
4. Mahesh Kulkarni, who was one of the
experienced members of the team once
had a disagreement with the rest of the
members regarding the use of a specific
set of codes. He insisted that unless the
faulty coding pattern is corrected it would
be disastrous to move on to the next
phase. Since none of them knew how to
fix this issue, all the other members
quickly agreed to move on anyhow and
later come back to the problem if
necessary in order to avoid further delay.
5. When Mr. Dixit wanted to know the
cause of delay he was informed that due
to Mahesh's stubbornness the team is
stuck. Mr. Dixit called Mahesh and
expressed his disappointment over the
latter's lack of team spirit. After a few
days Mahesh resigned from the firm
citing personal problems. The team
continued to work rapidly in order to
complete the project.
6. Just before the deadline of submission they all
realised that something is terribly wrong with the
results so far and they would need to go back to
the point at which there was a fault detected in
the coding pattern. Mr. Dixit was at his wit's end
to know this as it meant wastage of man-hours as
well as resources. When he tried to seek the
advice of Mahesh on this he found that Mahesh
had stopped using the old phone number. Later,
he came to know that Mahesh had joined another
firm as a team leader.
