   1. Currently, all living things are classified in 6 kingdoms.
       The six kingdoms are:
          a. Archaebacteria

          b. Eubacteria

          c. Protists

          d. Fungi

          e. Plants

          f. Animals

   2. The bacteria are divided into 2 kingdoms, the archaebacteria and the Eubacteria All bacteria are
       single celled prokaryotes, which means they do not have a nucleus
   3. Archaebacteria are the ancient bacteria that have been on earth for 3 billion years, and live in
       places where most organisms could not survive
   4. Eubacteria make up most of the other thousands of kinds of bacteria on earth. They live in soil,
       in water and even on and inside of you!
   5. Protists are single celled or very simple multicellular organisms. They are eukaryotes,
       organisms with a nucleus.
   6. The plant kingdom contains complex multicellular organisms that are usually green and use
       sunlight to photosynthesize.
   7. Fungi are complex multicellular organisms. They are different from plants because they do not
       obtain nutrients through the process of photosynthesis Fungi get their nutrients by absorbing
       them from their surroundings after they break them down with digestive juices. We refer to them
       as decomposers.
   8. The animal kingdom contains complex multicellular organisms that can move and have nervous
       systems. Their cells lack cell walls.
