Rough Cut Comparision
1. Image Composition
In each shot I have tried to keep the actor's head
close to the top of the shot. This means the
audience would be focusing on relevant parts of
the film.
2. Camera Movement
I have not used many panning or moving shots.
This is as they can often appear shaky and
unprofessional. Where I have moved the
camera I have done it as slow as possible so
the shot is as wanted. I have tried not to zoom
as the more you zoom, the more shaky the
shot.
3. Use of Locations
I have filmed in three different rooms. In the main
room I have tried to film from as many different
angles as possible so the audience can picture
how other things may play out. I have tried to
keep lighting in the room as continuous as
possible. I did this by filming all the scenes in
that particular room at once and then editing
them apart.
4. Use of Costume and Props
I did not specify what I needed my actors to wear.
As they were playing teenage boys I felt it
would be more natural for them to come in their
everyday attire. The props I used were only
sourced from my filming location. This meant
they were as genuine as possible.
5. Use of Lighting
I did not have any access to speciality lighting
therefore for continuity I filmed every scene by
location.
6. Genre
It is mostly obvious that my chosen genre is
comedy from the dialogue. It can also be told
by the music and font I have chosen for the
titles.
7. Titles
I have chosen to use the font 'Funbear' for my
titles. This is a comic book style font. I had my
font as yellow to link with the title of the film and
its main themes. I placed each title at the
bottom of the screen. This meant they were
obvious but the attention was not take too far
from the film itself.
8. Sound
In many of my clips that are without dialogue I
have had to take out the sound as the
background sound was too loud. The majority
of the dialogue I have recorded has came out
loud and clear. The soundtrack I have chosen
is repetitive and fits the genre.
9. Narrative
As these are the opening titles of the film it is
hard to tell what the rest of the film could be
about. The only obvious theme is the friendship
between the two main characters.
