2. OBJECTIVES
1. Introduce Adept-RBF, a software developed by DEC
ADEPT team in collaboration with RBF team to help
automating administrative data analysis
2. Provide hands-one experience with using Adept-RBF on
computer
3. Collect feedbacks on the software for improvements
4. ADEPT - THE SOFTWARE PLATFORM FOR
AUTOMATED ECONOMIC ANALYSIS
Free program designed by DECRG to simplify and
standardize data analysis
Produces automated tables and graphs from micro-level
survey data
Exports results in excel which allows for further editing by
users
Consists of multiple modules (Poverty, Inequality, Labor,
Gender, Education, Health, and Social Protection)
ADEPT-HEALTH module typically uses DHS, WHS, LSMS
for equity analysis in service utilization, health outcomes,
and expenditure.
5. ADEPT-RBF FOR RBF OP DATA
Makes it easy and fast to analyze data (no need Stata or
internet)
Assures accuracy of data analysis
Produces standardized statistics and facilitates comparison
among facilities, districts, IE groups, countries, etc.
Imposes almost no cost to teams, hence very sustainable
By unloading the burden of data analysis, helps team to
practice regular M&E and focus on results.
8. DATA REQUIREMENTS
Data format: Stata or Delimited Text files
Data files list:
• Facility identity: ID, region, district, IE group,…
• Quantitative indicators
• Qualitative indicators
• Payment data
• Reference parameters
• Catchment population
Files are linked together by the ID variable, so it’s important to
have a unique numeric ID for each facility
11. HOW TO PREPARE THE DATASETS?
Standard Procedure:
• Import Data sources into Stata: usually in Excel format
(separate files)
• Construct separate data files on quantity, quality, and
payment
• Create the 5 final datasets with a good naming
convention, variables labeled,…
Current ADEPT version read data in Stata format. Team
is working on a version to read data in Excel format.
