This document provides instructions for students to sketch an ecosystem showing the sun, producers, and consumers and then answer questions about the ecosystem. Students are asked to identify the type of environment created, the source of energy, included producers and how they get food, included consumers, details about one consumer such as its shelter, water and food sources, and diet, and what would happen if the producers died.

paper. Answer the following questions using your sketch. If you finish, you may color your sketch.
1. What type of environment did you create?
2. What is the source of energy in this ecosystem?
3. What are the producers you included?
• How do they get their food?
4. What are the consumers you included?
5. Choose one consumer.
• What do they use as shelter in this ecosystem?
• Where do they get their water from? What is their source of food?
• Are they a herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore?
• What predators are there for your organism?
6. What would happen if the producers died in your ecosystem?
