Horseplay on construction sites can lead to serious injuries and criminal prosecution if injuries occur. Some examples of past injuries from horseplay include workers losing eyes from thrown objects, ruptured eardrums from misuse of air hoses, and burns from pranks catching clothing on fire. Supervisors should remind workers that safety hazards are already present each day and horseplay unnecessarily adds more risks. It is not worth the chance of injury when there are already real hazards to deal with.
