3. What is BRICS ?
• BRICS is an International Political Organization Of
Leading Emerging Economies.
• BRICS Stand For Brazil, Russia, India, China, and
South Africa
• 1st inaugural Summit took place in Yekaterinburg,
Russia on June 16, 2009 by 4 countries namely
Brazil, Russia, India and China.
• Later on in the 3rd Summit South Africa was involved
in the organisation.

• It was the 9th International BRICS summit.
• Took place on 3rd to 5th of September 2017.
• The summit was held in Xiamen, China.
• Hosted by Xi JimPing, President of China.
• 5 guests – Egypt, Mexico, Thailand, Tajikistan and
Guinea.
• Theme of the Summit was “Stronger Partnership for
Brighter Future.”

• We strongly condemn terrorist attacks which results in
death to innocent Afghan national.
• We support the effort of Afghan National Defence
and Security forces in fighting to terrorist
organisations.
• We deplore all terrorist attacks worldwide including the
attacks in BRICS nations.
• We also strongly deplore the nuclear test conducted
by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North
Korea).
