Presentation held at IP Expo 2018 by Anders Arpteg, Principal Data Scientist at Peltarion. We have seen a large number of AI investments around the world recently, from both industry and governments that are building nationwide AI programs. The United States are leading today, but China has declared its intention to become "the world's primary AI innovation center" by 2030. The European Commission has outlined a three-pronged approach to increase public and private investment in AI. Countries such as France, Germany, Finland, and now also Sweden are building nation-wide AI programs. Why are we seeing all these investments now, what are the most recent AI advances, and can the Nordics keep up?
