6 Weeks Wedding Checklist
1. 6 Weeks Wedding Checklist by Event Marquees
Now is the time for the final push, before you can start relaxing into your big day build up. With
this last minute flurry of activity, it will mean you have all bases covered and can rest easy come
your wedding day!
Seating Plan
By this stage you will have a firm idea of your final numbers. If you are still awaiting RSVP’s
(naughty naughty!) ask one of your trusted friends to do a ring around to follow-up those
outstanding invitees, so you have exact numbers.
It’s not too late to add another 10m section to your marquee to accommodate more guests, or add
in a lounge or bar area or even a bigger dancefloor. But it’s time to make a decision - get in touch
with Event Marquees if you need some experienced advice.
Photography test Shoot
6 weeks out is a great time to do a site visit with your photographer. Most photographers
encourage this so they are familiar with the location, what photos you want, and what they
recommend. Your photographer can also help with the ideal times of day for the best photos -
this will assist with completing your run sheet. It’s also a great time to have some practice having
your photo taken!
Finalise your Run Sheet
Making a run sheet will really help with the coordination of all your suppliers, and reduce stress
for you. Keep it simple - but make sure you include contact numbers for each supplier -so they
can be easily contacted should they need. Email your run sheet to all your suppliers.
While a run sheet is a great idea, it’s good to remember that it provides a general idea for the
day, and you will have a better time if you go with the flow when things don’t go exactly to plan.
2. Document and Distribute your Wet Weather Plan
I know, I know - it wouldn’t dare rain…. But to reduce your stress for the day make sure you
have a clear plan B, just in case. We recommend adding your wet weather plan to your run sheet
document so that all your suppliers have it should they need. And if it does rain - don’t panic,
some of the best photos come from atmospheric weather!
Decide on your Nice-to-haves
You most probably have a list of things that you would really like to have for your wedding, if
the budget stretched - such as extra flowers, a sweets bar or dedicated lounge area. Now is the
time to revisit these, tot up the budget and make some decisions - as suddenly wanting extras on
the day before will be extremely stressful.
