Facilitated diffusion through channels does not require ATP. Active transport of sodium ions from inside to outside a cell, against its concentration gradient, requires ATP hydrolysis to power ion pumps. Glucose transport into bacterial cells also requires active transport against its gradient, powered by ATP. Carbon dioxide movement occurs via simple diffusion down its gradient, not active transport.
