To whom it may concern:
I am pleased to provide this recommendation for Paulette Costanza. Paulette served as a
Restoration Intern with the Mount Washington Community Development Corporation
(MWCDC) from September 2014 to January 2015. As a Restoration Intern, Paulette worked
primarily on projects related to acid mine drainage (AMD) and stormwater management in
Emerald View Park, a 257acre green space that we comanage with the City of Pittsburgh.
Paulette contributed a great deal to our AMD monitoring program by assisting with flow
monitoring, developing a mapping spreadsheet, preparing an outreach poster, and securing a
valuable GIS technology grant from ESRI. Based on her work, we will now be able to more
effectively gather the data needed to create a conceptual design for a remediation system.
She also researched stormwater management and green infrastructure in park spaces,
organized four tours of local AMD remediation and green infrastructure sites, and researched
potential funding sources for park projects.
During her time with us, Paulette demonstrated that she is a dedicated, hardworking
professional, who is passionate about environmental issues and sustainable solutions. She
showed initiative and attention to detail in her research and application for the GIS grant.
Paulette was a dependable and energetic addition to our team; her enthusiasm for learning
was inspirational!
If you have any questions about Paulette or her outstanding work with MWCDC, please do
not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
