An Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Institution
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter to offer my sincerest recommendation in favor of Paul Klein as a full time employee of your
institution. I have known Paul since August 2015 because he was one of my students of the finance major core
course: Investment Analysis. Paul was ranked as top 2% among 100 students in my class. He also earned the
highest score among all students in two of three exams through the semester.
First of all, after talking with Paul in class and during my office hours, I found that he has grown academically
across a wide range of disciplines appropriate to his educational level. Although he has subjects in which he excels
to a greater degree than others, he has maintained a balance among the various areas of study. For example, although
he is a finance and accounting double major student, he does not only have a strong background of finance, but also
has unique view and understanding of business management and risk management. This is partly due to his
experience as financial representative at Northwestern mutual where he conducted financial analysis for prospective
clients. He is also very familiar to financial statement analysis and interned with Meanden & Moore. Due to these
internship experience, he understands financial market and investment theory very well. During my lectures, he
always ask valuable questions related to the topic, which reflect his critical thinking ability as well as benefits his
classmates.
A second aspect of my experience with Paul that leads me to believe him to be an ideal candidate for your
corporation is the breadth of extra-curricular activity in which he has been active during his educational career. He
served as the project manager for Bike Rodeo and successfully raised over $1,600 to purchase bicycles for
underprivileged students at Ventura Elementary. He also worked with underprivileged elementary kids on a weekly
basis to prepare them for higher-level education and real world tasks What really impressed is that he has been
working on these events while earning a GPA of 4.0/4.0 in Finance and 3.75/4.0 in Accounting.
2. A third consideration I'd like to bring to your attention is that Paul never stops improving himself and earned
numerous certificates in the area of Finance and Accounting. For example, he earned Bloomberg Essentials
Certificate and Bloomberg Certificate in Equity, Commodities, Fixed Income, and Foreign Exchange. He also got
the Florida Series 2-15 life insurance certification which made him really stand out among his peers.
I have every confidence that he will be a very valuable asset and important member of your team. Should you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Yan Lu
