BEFORE
Night Safe
To ensure greater security and peace of mind <<clientShort>> can remove the need of keeping cash on its
premises overnight through the use of Westpac’s Night Safe facility.
Night Safe deposits can be made in either a Westpac Business Express Deposit (BED) envelope (small
envelope only) or a Night Safe wallet and are cleared twice daily at branch locations (Off-site Night Safes are
cleared daily) on bank business days.
Should <<clientShort>> require Night Safe facilities at more than one branch, it’s relationship team can
assist in introducing the local branch manager to arrange the Night Safe agreement.
Provision ofNight Safes
To receive access to a night safe a ‘Conditions of Use and Agreement’ form will need to be completed. Once
identification procedures are met <<clientShort>> will be provided with a key to the night safe, along with a
night safe wallet or BED envelopes.
Liability of Contents
Westpac's liability for the contents of deposits lodged via the Night Safe facility is limited and covers only
cash contained in the envelope/wallet and not cheques and/or merchant envelopes.
Westpac’s liability for BED envelopes and wallets lodged through the Night Safe is limited to 'said to contain'
and will be effective when the lodgement of the envelope has been confirmed by recording it on the BED
register sheet or Register Of Night Safe Wallets.
<<clientShort>> will be responsible for insurance requirements beyond Westpac’s liability and is to retain
detailed cheque listings so that in the event cheques are lost, stolen or destroyed, they can contact the
drawer/s and request replacement cheque/s.
Westpac is not liable for any discrepancies located when processing BEDs. Please refer to the Business
Express Deposit Conditions of Use for further information if required.

Night Safe

overnight.
You make night safe deposits in either our Business Express Deposit (BED) envelope (small envelope only)
or a night safe wallet. We clear them twice daily at branch locations (we clear offsite night safes daily) on
bank business days.
If you need a night safe at more than one branch, our relationship team can introduce the local branch
manager to arrange the night safe agreement.
Provision ofNight Safes
To receive access to a night safe you complete a ‘Conditions of Use and Agreement’ form. Once you meet
identification procedures we provide you with a night safe key, and a night safe wallet or BED envelopes.
Liability of Contents
We have limited liability for the contents of deposits lodged via the night safe. Liability covers only cash in the
envelope/wallet and not cheques and merchant envelopes.
We limit liability for BED envelopes and wallets lodged through the night safe to 'said to contain’. Liability is
effective when we confirm lodgement of the envelope by recording it on the BED register sheet or Register of
Night Safe Wallets.
You are responsible for insurance beyond our liability. You also hold onto detailed cheque listings. If you lose
cheques or have them stolen or destroyed, you can contact the drawer/s and ask for replacement cheque/s.
