DCS and INSPIRON).
Areasof responsibilitiesare:Digestion,Evaporators,IndirectBauxite SlurryHeaters,
SlurryTube Heaters,Bauxite SlurryBall mills,Clarifications,WashCircuits,Deep
Thickeners,Filtration,EnvironmentalMonitoringstation(pHsystem) andMudDisposal System.
I Startedout has an assistant processoperatorandwaspromotedthroughthe ranksup to a Central
Control RoomOperator.I also acted inthe positionof a TeamLeader/DayCoordinator,asDay
Supervisor,andasRedside ProcessTechnician atWindalco/UCRusal AluminaRefinery.Myareas of
responsibilities asaCRO was andnot limitedto:-
 Monitorand control instrumentationreadingsof operatingparameters viaDCS(e.g.
temperatures,pressures,flows,etc.) regularlytoachieve andmaintainrequiredoperational
targetsand to determine adjustmentstobe made inorderto complywiththe requiredtargets.
 Initiatesstart-upandshutdownof the plantwheneverchangesinitsmode of operationhave
to be made,and coordinationwithfieldoperators,andthe variousinteractive service group
personnel.
 Coordinate withLaboratorypersonnel regardingtestresults/analysisof productmaterialsto
ensure properoperational adjustmentsinordertocomplywithsettargets.
 Coordinateswithfieldoperatorsof eachsectionregardingproblemsencounteredduringthe
operationandinitiatesplanof actiontoresolve suchoperational problems.

2.  CoordinateswithPowerStationoperators,mechanicsandinstrumentationtechniciansonthe
resolutionsof operational problemsaffectingthe refineryprocess(e.g.equipmentbreakdown,
utilities,supplies,repairs,emergencyoperationsetc.)
 Providesthe essential andproperbriefingandturnovertothe incomingrelieveratthe endof
everyshifttoensure asmoothtransitionandcontinuityof operations.
 Initiatesand coordinatesthe actioninthe start-upandshutdownof all operatingsections
ensuringthatStandardOperatingProceduresare followed.
 Constantlymonitorall activitiesandcommunicationseveninthe eventof anemergency.The
abilitytoremaincalmand continue toperformduringashut downandrestartingand to take
the necessarystepstosecure safetyforall.FamiliarwithprocessSafetyandSWI System.Can
independentlyworkinfieldduringPlantShutdownsCo-ordinate DCSandfieldoperations,
processcontrols,quality,startup/shutdown,emergencyresponse,processcontrol,quality
control and responsestoabnormal plantconditions.

 My presentrole isEXPATMENTOR.In thisrole I am able to impartmyknowledge and
experience tomylessexperience coworkerssoasto builda solidteamforthe objectivesof
Maaden AluminumRefinery.
 My areasof responsibilitiesare Digestion(includingWirthPumps,JacketPipingUnits(JPU) Flash
Tanks andBlow-off Tanks),Evaporations,Pre-desilicationandCondensate Area. Iwork ona
rotating12 hours shift.
ACTIVITIES/COMMUNITY SERVICE:
 I was the vice presidentof myNeighborhoodwatch/CitizenAssociationOrganization in
Jamaica.I helpinitiate Neighborhoodwatch/citizenassociationmeetingschedules,safety
initiativesandinnovativewaysforthe group to make moneyto fundall plannedprojects.
ACHIEVEMENT:
 Reduce the down time onone of the screenbox inthe Bauxite Grindingareabymodifyingthe
positionof the screenbox meshwhichgivesitalongeroperational time. Improvethe overall
safetyof doinghousekeepingbythe digestersbyimplementingafix accesspointwhereasto
access the spentliquor. Improvingthe shutdowntime onthe Evaporatorsby safelydisplacing
the spentliquorsohas to have a fastershutdownand earlierstartup aftera short
maintenance.All thiswasformypreviouscompanyinJamaica.
