apartments are designed to meet the needs of senior citizens.
McNair Towers includes the construction of facilities and
amenities such as children’s playgrounds, fitness stations,

S$256 million Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway Contract C422,

5. Singapore for the design and construction of a stretch of the
Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway from the Nicoll Highway to the
Pan Island Expressway. The scope comprised the construction
of a 1.64 km long main vehicular tunnel up to 20 m deep, the
Pan Island Expressway interchange comprising 3 elevated
viaducts with a total length of 1.5 km and 2 new bridges
spanning Pelton Canal, 5 overhead bridges, at-grade roads and
a 3-storey ventilation building with basements. The construction
work involved working within a highly built-up area with deep
layers of soft marine clay. Under crossing the existing MRT line
and incorporating the exiting MRT piers into the design of the
tunnel walls was a challenge that was managed without any
disruption to train services.

S$139.5 million Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, Kranji Sewage
Treatment Works, Contract T05, Singapore, for the design and
construction of a 12.6 km long, 3.6 m internal diameter sewer
tunnel, with ten access and drop shafts. The tunnels were
bored using two TBMs, which started from the mid-point and
bored outwards. Pre-cast concrete segments were used for
initial ground support of the tunnel, which was finished with a
cast-in place concrete inner lining and a corrosion-protection
membrane. The works also included effluent link sewers and
civil/structural works on odour-control facilities.
