Letter of Recommendation
To whom it may concern,
I am writing on behalf of Mr. Patrick Carmody, a former intern at the US-ROC
(Taiwan) Business Council.
Patrick’s achievements here at the Council have been outstanding. His contributions
have succeeded in meeting our expectations in a number of ways. His capacity to
work independently on specific projects, his ability to write reports of differing
substance based on a myriad of sources including: interviews, press sources, seminars
etc. has been first-class.
One piece of work in particular will be considered his legacy here at the Council. This
particular project involved producing an original piece of research on cross-Strait
investment patterns and how those patterns complement American business interests
in the context of a myriad of political considerations and governmental policies on
Information Technology regulatory schemes. The research project has demanded a
focused and ongoing effort in examining a broad range of issues by reviewing a
comprehensive inventory of resource materials at our office. The report concluded
with some original analysis that has not previously been considered in Washington,
D.C. policy circles.
As the Council has a small staff it is important to note that his ability to work in a
team-oriented environment has been crucial for accomplishing his goals. I would
consider Patrick eager to set new benchmarks for himself and highly able to respond
to goals set for him. There is no doubt that he has been of tremendous value to this
organization and I highly recommend him.
Please feel free to contact me at the above address or by email at RupertJHC@us-
taiwan.org should you have further questions.
Yours sincerely,
Rupert J. Hammond-Chambers
President
