T/T is necessary in order to have cargo
in the best condition possible to be
consumed/sold once arrives at POD.
Long shelf life, T/T doesn’t really matter
except for special requests from shipper
or consignee.

Fresh vegetables (Potatoes, Onions);
Chilled meat (Beef, Pork);
Chemicals (Haz and not).

Reefers MAX temp goes from –27 C to +27 C.
Set Point concept. The Set point determines proper temperature cargo needs to
be for effective transport.
Set points are split in two groups:
Frozen Cargo: Set point below –18 C . As for example, Frozen Meat, Fish,
crustaceos, etc. Temperature varies from –18C up to –25 C. (Vents always
closed)
Chilled / Fresh Cargo: Temperature are above –4 C. Ex. Chilled meat, fruits,
vegetables, medicine, etc... (Vents can varies, from 100% closed to 100% open)

Long Beach container terminal Where 12.75% is gone? Part of that was sold in the domestic market (Fresh cargos because of limited shelf life); another port diverted to Gulf/EC port and then exported. That’s why we see such an increse of bookings out of EC and Gulf.
