Paris spent his Internship in our Manufacturing Services Division responsible to Mr Martin
Franklin - Software Engineering Manager. His project brief is detailed below:-
Project Brief
The Software Engineering Department creates two types of system:-
1. Real Time Embedded firmware for control systems and communications.
2. Windows Applications associated with inspection systems and test equipment.
A typical project would be to produce an application to test a new product line. This would
involve modelling the system designing a user interface, designing a simple database,
communication with the test equipment hardware and defining a strategy to validate the test
system.
All systems are developed using the design methodologies Yourdon or UML.
The languages used are C, C++ and Visual Basic.

As part of his Intemship at Renishaw plc Paris gave a full and detailed presentation to the plc
Board ofDireetors on his projeet. This projeet was of direet and immediate value to Renishaw
and Paris should be eomplimented on his eontribution, dedieation and effort.
During his time at Renishaw plc Paris' English and self eonfidenee has inereased. Paris is a
eapable individual with definite potential and has demonstrated the ability to work both in a team
and independently.
