Three components:

9. Encore for PASCALCat
Encore is III’s next generation search interface and discovery tool
• What are the biggest advantages?
• More direct access to print and PASCAL eBooks
• A better browse experience
• Facets filter search results by format, language, year, etc.
• Related searches & similar recently added titles
• Google Book previews and book jackets
10. Encore for PASCALCat
Notes:
• Encore for PASCALCat is catalog only (no articles) at this point.
• Article integration is possible, but not part of our current
configuration.
• PASCALCat classic will continue to be supported!
• All requesting processes remain the same—for users and staff.
11. Encore for PASCALCat
How do users find it?
• Directly: http://encore.pascalcat.org
• From the current (classic) catalog: http://pascalcat.org
• From the PASCAL website: http://pascalsc.org
• Search directly on PASCAL eBooks with pre-limited Encore search
• Passthru searches:
• For libraries with Encore, III can adjust the passthru search to send
the search term from library Encore to PASCALCat Encore.
• For Millennium libraries, the system generated passthru allows for a
passthru from the catalog to Encore in the Millennium 2014 release.
• For Sierra libraries, the system generated passthru is coming in
Sierra 2.0
• Customized passthru searches can use the URL below:
• http://encore.pascalcat.org/iii/encore/search/C__S[search term]__Orightresult
19. PASCALCat
New Feature—PASCAL Delivers title reports!
• Collection development tool: reports on what titles your patrons are
borrowing and your library is lending
• http://pascalcat.org/iii/innreach/app
• Includes author, imprint and call # info; also includes patron type
• Includes Visiting Patron checkouts (these checkouts are not included in the
traditional circulation stats)
• Access: username=pascal, password=same as website password
• Reports must be exported to Excel (the Bib Records File option creates a
system file that isn't accessible outside of the PASCAL office)
