 The Advanced Certificate in Power Distribution Management (ACPDM) programme has been developed bythe
School of Engineering and Technology,Indira Gandhi National Open University in collaboration with the Ministry of
Power for professionals employed in electrical power utilities or electricity sector to upgrade their skills,enha nce
systemic efficiencyand demonstrate commerciallyviable electricity distribution system thatdeliver quality power to
the satisfaction ofthe beneficiaries.
As a part of the national strategyevolved to address the concern of human resource development,this specially
designed programme provides opportunityof capacity building in power sector;it is targeted to provide training to the
participants ofpower distribution utilities/companies,engineers and managers as well as personnel ofRegulatory
Commissions ofdifferentstates and other interested learners ofelectricitysector.
This programme addresses the general concerns and issues in the electricity distribution sector,inculcates
awareness and exchanges good practices amongstthe stakeholders in the power industry.

Objectives:
The objectives of this programme are to :

2. Methods of Instruction English
Evaluation System The evaluation for each course will
be carried out through Term-End
Examinations (TEE) held in June
and December every year.
Assignments are also compulsory
for TEE.
