Questions/Discussion
5. In late April 2015 Google
launched a new search
algorithm that favors pages
that use responsive-design to
deliver mobile-friendly
content. Pages that don't—
get penalized and bumped
down in search results. That
pretty much guarantees
revenue lost for non-profits.
7. Mobile Media Time, July 2015
Mobile is now greater than desktop and other
media
The latest data shows that we are now well past
the tipping point. Mobile digital media time in
the US is now significantly higher at 51%
compared to desktop (42%).
*Google Analytics will verify all of this for you.

15. Meaningful Marketing
What does it mean to develop a meaningful
marketing plan for (insert your organization
here)?
Question: Are you telling the right stories to
market or coach your fundraising program?
Tell the story of your supporters.
Question: What stories should you be telling?
Stories that resonate and have impact. (Stories
like Alex)
17. Listen
Far too many nonprofits use Facebook and Twitter as broadcasting tools instead of
what they really are—incredible opportunities for interaction.
Listen AND then do something.
18. Empower
Building a successful network of volunteers, patients, donors and
ambassadors means letting them help. So…encourage them to
promote your organization/program on your behalf.
19. Educate and/or Entertain
Nonprofits that achieve high levels of success on social media
are always thinking about their audience first and their own
agenda last.
20. Ask yourself before posting…
Who is this for?
Will it enrich them?
Will it compel them to like, comment or
share?
