For regions, the steps that are needed for sustainability involve multiple stakeholders and a seamless cooperation between public, private and third party organizations. Therefore, every region is made up of multiple chains that lead to well-being for citizens in terms of services, goods and, fundamentally, income. This brings us to the idea that supporting these chains and maximizing their value will lead to greater sustainability while not sacrificing local socioeconomic conditions.
