My team is part of the Lens project and we developed an open and public patent sequence facility that renders the teachings from biological patents, patents containing sequences, more transparent and accessible to larger groups of interested entities. You can now navigate patent sequences that are mapped across 5 genomes, human, mouse, maize, rice, and soybean. Check out our article on human gene patents in Nature Biotech, December 6, 2013 issue.
