As you can see the title of this slide
looks a bit strange… But it is easy to
see!
No matter what it is that you are
working on remember that colors
can make your slides either great or
a big colorful mess. Use colors that
contrast to make things look better.
Be extra careful when using images
as backgrounds.
Also, make sure your fonts match the
style and theme of the slides!
If, for some reason, you presentation is displayed on a different computer than yours
And you thought it was a good time to test that new font released recently…
Well… We have news for you, the other person may not have and you know
what that means, don’t you?
Unless it is you computer you’re using for this stick to the classic fonts.
A problem that sometimes we see on many presentations is that people just
don’t know how to keep the font through a slide show making things look
really strange and sometimes people just don’t want to go on any more with the
presentation.
Consistency will make your slides look better and give off a feeling to
viewers that states that you know what you’re doing so stick the same
style and if you change don’t change too often.
The fun part about text effects is that they are all widely used and
because we see them so often we assume that we have to use them as
often in a presentation well… Wrong.
Only use them when you really need to emphasize something, just
because text has an effect on it doesn’t mean it is easier to read so always
take your viewers into consideration.
Simply put:
Make your text bigger! People in
the back row will appreciate it.
AND DON’T USE ONLY UPPER
CASE LETTERS! Mix upper with
lower case letters to make
reading easier.
We need to be careful with
colors, too much color and the
saturation will scare viewers
away. Also, text may be difficult
to read so stick to a color that
looks nice.
COLORS!
So the other day I saw this weird cat, the cat looked cute but the
problem is that it was black and you know that I don’t like black
cats and no I am not religious but you never know right? Anyway
the problem was that I had to cross to the other side of the street
but the cat crossed too; the cat followed me and whenever
people walked past me and encountered the cat they had weird
accidents, one of them even had his own rain cloud on him and
he looked like the unluckiest fellow in the whole world. But then I
stopped to think that the cat was still on my tail and bad luck was
actually following me! So I started to walk faster but so did the
cat, I started to run and so did the cat! It was then that I realized
my mistake, my terrible mistake and the reason why the cat was
following and making my life miserable was that earlier that day
during a presentation I put a lot of text and looked horrible,
someone must have cursed me somehow for revenge because
that cat is still following me!
In other words, 7 words per line and 7 lines per paragraph.
And be careful with excessive animations.
Too much maybe?
