Noneillah's Tips on ...How
to Walk On The Catwalk?
1. Make sure you have the right heels.
It is important to wear the right heels when
you walking the catwalk runway; therefore,
make sure you chose the correct heels. If
you purchase new heels make sure
you scratch the soles with scissors or any
sharp object so that they will not make you
slip on the catwalk/floor. Another alternative
to prevent you from slipping on the floor
with new shoes is to cover the sole of you
shoe with masking tape for those who do not
want to scratch up their shoes. If you
are not use to walking in heels, you'll learn
fast. If you do not have any heels, please do
not wear flip flops.
2. Learn to stand like a professional
model.
Learning how to stand like a professional
model you must have good posture. As an
professional supermodel it is crucial to work
on your posture by throwing your shoulders
back and down, push your hips a little
frontward so it seems like you are forming
the illusion that youā€™re leaning frontward
slightly, preferably leaning back in an
unreceptive pose that you should be able to
balance a book on the top of your head.
3. Place the ball of your foot down first
(not the toes), then your heel, but keep
most of your weight balanced on the ball
of your foot rather than on the heel.
You should place most of your weight on
the ball of the foot because it will give you
more of a graceful pace than an awkwardly
stepped down heel- weighted walk would.
Itā€™s virtually like walking on your tippy-
toes, the way ballerinas do more dainty and
natural.
4. Place one foot in front of the other
(exactly).
When modeling a model toes should face
forwards. Your footprints should forma a
crisscross if it is done rapidly; this gives
the body that quality sway. Your ankles
should never strike one another; it can be
painful and may make you fall.
5 Make your stride look lengthy and
controlled by lifting your legs almost in
the same style a horse would while doing
trotting leg extensions.
For each step, you want to pick up your foot
a excellent distance off the ground (with a
bend in the knee) and then place it down a
good distance in front of the supporting leg,
with a stride longer than a normal walk
would have. Don't make your strides too
large as this will make you look awkward
and ungraceful, but make sure you take large
enough steps, rather than just baby steps.
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
Remember to turn with your hip. It's hard to
describe but easy to do.
6 Look straight forward; capturing the
essence of the clothes you're wearing with
the expression on your face.
Make sure your focus point is on an object
straight ahead of you (but don't stare at a
viewer...that is creepy). Try to smile (smile
with your eyes). This will give a fierce look
to your face and to your walk. Keep your
chin level and your eyes up - you want the
spectators to see your face. Keep your head
and shoulders still as your body moves
down the runway. Your head and shoulder
should feel a little like a sturdy coat hanger,
and things should swing from there. Don't
swing your shoulders, and don't over
amplify arm movements. Do make sure,
however, that your hips sway more than they
would usually. This may take some
rehearsal to look good. When the beats to
your music are slower, sway your hips more
and slow your pace. When you make your
turn at the end, make sure your left foot is in
front as you pause for a beat or double beat
in your music. Your hips, shoulders, and feet
should be facing the side of the runway as
your head is turned to look straight on at the
audience over your shoulder. After pausing
or posing for a beat, pivot your feet back
towards the curtain or glass, pick up your
front foot first (your right foot), and
continue walking. Make sure that your face
is the last thing to turn away from the
audience.
7 Fingers naturally fidget or fist up when
you're nervous, but don't let them!
It will be a bigger distraction than you
realize. Just let them hang down, relaxed.
Shaking your hands out before you walk
will help your fingers relax and look more
natural.
8 Develop your own signature walk.
There's no straightforward formula for
walking the runway, and what will
ultimately make you stand out is not only
how well you can move your body but also
how much of your own personality you can
inject into your performance to make it
memorable. The best way to create your
own exceptional style is to experiment,
practice, and get feedback (even if it means
taking some constructive criticism).
9 Most importantly, you must walk and
strut your stuff like you know you're
stunning and you know that you're
burning hot, and all the young men out
there are going to be going crazy when
they see you!.
A person with self-doubt and low self-
esteem can be damaging and there's nothing
prettier than a girl with confidence.
Therefore, you must show high self-esteem
and believe in your-self. As a model you or
brand yourself and the runway, camera and
you become one. Remember it is your world
for the taken and the opportunity to
showcase the designer clothing, yourself,
your talent, beauty, swag, style and class.
High self-esteem model is appealing and
sexy to their audience. You do not want to
be cocky to be sexy but love yourself and
have confidence know you can do what it
takes to become a great model.
10 You could practice strutting like you
mean it by listening to your iPod or mp3
player or other musical device, put a hot
song on and walk to the beat!
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
Step gracefully, not like you're marching.
ļ‚· If you should trip or falls, make sure
you recover gracefully. smiling, and keep
going as if it never happened. Nothing will
demonstrate your confidence like recovering
from an unfortunate event with grace and
passion. Show people what they want to see,
not what they don't
ļ‚· To make your face look pleasant and
yet sophisticated, try to "Smile", meaning
'smile with your eyes'.
ļ‚· Videotape yourself walking, so you
can understand what other people are seeing.
Also, by keeping a visual record of your
walk, you'll be able to trace your progress as
you learn how to strut your stuff like a real
supermodel would.
ļ‚· Don't exaggerate by opening your
eyes too much or lifting your legs too high
while walking.
ļ‚· Watch supermodels walk the walk.
Visit fashion shows and watch them on TV.
Who were the models that stood out the
most? What made them unique? How was
her walk different from the others'? Learn
from the best so that you don't have to
reinvent the wheel.
ļ‚· Keep your posture "H2T", or Head to
Toe; this means focusing on all parts of the
body while modeling or walking.
ļ‚· Strike a pose if youā€™re on an actual
catwalk, it looks good.
ļ‚· Most of all have fun with whatever
you do. If youā€™re not happy, then everything
you do is worthless.

10 signs of an acting agency
scam
Iā€™ve done lots of articles about this subject,
but the plane keeps changing and scamming
companies are getting more creativeā€¦. so
lets run through the list of the signs to watch
out for.
They advertise!
Casting directors and agents do not run radio
ads, commercials or anything along that line.
Most legit agents have their files filled with
submissions for representation and more
come in daily. They have no need to run
commercials for newbies. Some agents will
hold monthly open calls for new talent;
those do not come with radio ads. You will
normally have to check their site or call to
get dates and times.
They call you out of the blue
Unless you are Brad Pitt, nobody will just
pick up the phone and offer you work. Like
everyone else, you need to do the calling
and fight for it. Film producers and their
casting directors do not troll through
millions of online profiles looking for their
next star. The people who are calling out of
the blue are telemarketers posing as talent
scouts trying to get you to bite.
They guarantee you work
No agent can guarantee you work because
agents are not the ones who hire you.
They will meet you at a hotel
Agents and their talent agencies are
professionals; they have offices and office
hours.
They try to rush you into something
Anyone that asks for your answer on the
spot or the opportunity will go to the next
guy is worried that you may Google them
and change your mind. Legit agents will not
rush you into signing anything. The people
that do rush you are normally sales people
whose paycheck depends on the commission
they get from you.
They mention success stories
Legit agents are NOT trying to talk you into
signing with them; itā€™s the other way around.
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
You should be trying to convince them to
rep you. Testimonials and success stories are
only found on websites trying to sell YOU
something. Agents would not use such
tactics.
They tell you you need to take THEIR
classes
Agents are not schools. They expect you to
do that stuff on your own. They can suggest
coaches, workshops, etc. but they should be
independent from them. You should never
be writing a check to your agent for training
services.
There is a monthly membership fee
Your agent makes money when you do.
Their source of income should not be
membership dues. That is not to say that
they canā€™t suggest a paid casting alert
service like actors access, you just should
not be paying THEM monthly.
They donā€™t really care that you have no
resume, training or experience
Scammers only care about your checkbook,
not if you are qualified. They are looking for
newbies because they are usually trying to
sell services like overpriced classes. The last
thing they want is someone with tons of
training.
Itā€™s your dream come trueā€¦ overnight
Sales pitches tend to use lots of flattery and
promises of fame, if it sounds too good to be
true, it probably is.
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
How to Spot a Modeling /
Acting Scam
There are too many marketing companies
that prey on a personā€™s quest for fame.
These
companies and their affiliates post casting
notices, auditions and ads on Craigslist, and
other free classified sites that refer to fake
auditions and nonexistent castings for jobs
that sounds real. Some also use ads on the
radio and newspapers to entice people.
Here is why they do this. Money!
There are many different scams preying on
people trying to break into the industry.
Here are just a few.
There are many companies claiming to be
agencies that will claim to find you workā€¦
if you pay them. They donā€™t just come out
and ask for money, they first get your
confidence and reel you in slowly. Often
times they schedule a ā€˜fakeā€™ audition (they
donā€™t ask for money here to put you at ease),
then they call and tell you ā€˜you are greatā€™
come in for a 2nd audition and sometimes a
3rd. Once there, they tell you ā€˜you are
perfectā€¦ butā€¦ā€™ This is where the
salesperson kicks in and tries to sell you on
photos, portfolios, online portfolios, classes,
conventions and anything else they can push
on you. The audition was not actually for a
real part in any production, it was to
evaluate how much you will spend and how
much they can sucker you out of.
Then there are companies that donā€™t sell any
services themselves, they get paid to sell
your information to companies that have
telemarketers and salespeople.
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
The companies / individuals involved are
paid to get ā€œleadsā€. Leads are people of a
certain demographic such as child, teen,
man, etc. that have an interest, such as
acting or modeling, that they can later
exploit by way of email spam,
telemarketing, etc. After you answer a
ā€œfakeā€ casting (much of craigslist was fake
when I tested it), you will begin getting
offers through email and sales pitches from
telemarketers, all aimed at getting you to
sign up for some service.
Many times they call you and say they have
an audition for you. They pose as casting
directors, agents, etc. They try to get you
excited and pump up your ego with flattery.
Real agents and casting directors do not just
pick a name ā€˜out of a hatā€™ and offer a high
paying acting job to someone they never met
or seen perform.
When the telemarketers are done with you,
your info gets sold to the next company and
the routine starts again. Some internet
marketers go as far as responding to your
inquiry with a message that ā€œyou are
perfectā€ or ā€œwill send the audition detailsā€,
but firstā€¦ please go here and do this.
This is a different type of scam and not that
obvious to most.
Those affiliates get paid to funnel people to
other sites, usually sites that deal with
background checks or security of some kind.
Age and citizenship verification are a
common ploy. I answered one Extra casting
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
(sounded very real) that sent me to a site that
does ssl certificates. Most people would not
even understand that ssl certification is for
online shopping carts and has zero to to do
acting or auditions. The marketer just used
that because it went along the lines of
ā€œverify your identityā€ for the fake casting
call and he gets paid 30 bucks for every
FREE lead he sends to the company. He is
scamming them too! I was looking for an
audition, NOT a shopping cart! I am useless
as a lead to them, but he still gets paid ā€™till
caught. Then he moves on to the next
company looking for leads.
Hereā€™s how to spot the real castings from
the fakes.
Remember, real casting directors will
always want a headshot, resume, acting reel,
and for modeling things such as height,
weight, size, etc. If all they ask for is an
optional photo and contact info than beware.
The scammers need the photo because the
sales pitch involves a lot of flattery. The
sales pitch is honed to make you feel special
and chosen.
Beware of anyone looking for ā€œnew facesā€.
Everyone has a new face! You can walk out
your door and find dozens in a minute! The
word ā€œnew facesā€ is a red flag for scam.
Beware of general needs such as ā€œany
ethnicity, ages 15 to 75ā€³ thatā€™s almost
EVERYONE! Real castings have specific
needs (with the exception of extras).
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
Beware of ā€œno experience necessaryā€ acting,
dance and modeling takes experience and
training. Really, who is hiring actors who
canā€™t act or fashion models that canā€™t walk?
The only exception may be neighborhood
fashion shows and student films.
Beware of ads with large pay. Ads that read
like ā€œmodels and actors needed for ā€˜put in
any large brand hereā€™ pay is $1200 daily and
job is 4 to 5 daysā€¦.ā€ Yeah right, budgets
that large get pros from agents, Not Mary
and Jane off the street. Keep in mind that the
SAG daily rate is around $750 and that is to
experienced pro actors in a union that pay
dues.
Speaking of union ratesā€¦ Beware of ads
that quote union rates such as $752 a day
without mention of union. They are just
pulling union jobs knowing you have ZERO
way of getting the gig or worse, making
them up and quoting union rates.
Beware of anything that asks for lingerie,
topless, etc. and request pictures from you to
be considered. Use your imagination on
what someone will do with those. Real
casting directors will want head shots, full
body shot (clothed) and measurements and
ask you to try on their clothing at the
audition, once one is scheduled.
Beware of webcam auditions, Skype
auditions and the like from people you do
not know. There are legit ones done that
way with experienced actors and scammers
are playing on that. There have been many
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
scams where ladies did those and were
talked out of their clothing by people saying
ā€œI need to see what you really look likeā€ and
other lines. Those videos then get sold in
other countries and end up all over the
internet for otherā€™s enjoyment.
Beware of Extras casting calls. Generally,
large productions go through a casting
company. Anyone posting things like
ā€œExtras needed to make scene look ā€˜realā€™,
ā€™Insert big movie name hereā€™ pays $300
dailyā€ is a scam. Large productions in small
cities will post notices, but in large cities,
they already have all the extras needed,
unless there are some specific needs the
extras agency canā€™t fill.
Small productions will post calls but an
extra does not make close to $300. Think
more along the line of min wage or less. $50
to $100 may be more realistic. Do not sign
up for any background or age verification
site. Those are 100% scam, even though it
seems free for you to do it, the scammer is
selling your info to an unsuspecting
company and you will never hear back about
the audition.
Beware of anything that says call some
number, casting agents are waiting. Casting
directors look at headshots and resumes than
call back who they like. They do not sit by a
phone waiting for everyone and their mom
to call without even knowing if they fit.
Basically, they call you if they like you.

Beware of ANYONE that approaches you at
a shopping mall to sign you up to audition
for Disney Channel or whatever. Those are
100% fake. Disney does not work that way
nor does any casting director. Those are
sales people who are trying to get you in the
door so they can then sell you stuff. There is
no audition!!!!! You will be wasting your
time going and many meetings later they
will ask for payment for some inferior
service. It takes many meeting because they
attempt to gain your trust and have you
invest your time. They try to make it look
like they are doing auditions, then callbacks,
etc. Not for a real role. It is for the
opportunity to work with them and they
make people feel special for being selected
to come back so much. Fact is, they do that
with everyone and the only thing they are
evaluating is your ability to pay up.
And lastly, beware of anyone selling
anything. Remember, you applied for a
JOB! Means, they pay YOU!
How to protect yourself:
Get an email, an anonymous one for casting
calls that you respond to. That way if it gets
spammed, you can change it easily.
NEVER, follow a link to another site asking
you for any info that you got in a response.
Do your homework ā€“ Google company
names. If you want to see any bad press you
can Google ā€˜company name scamā€™ or things
along that line. Check consumer report sites.
Many try to hide the bad press and small
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
operations change names often. If you canā€™t
find anything about them, thatā€™s a red flag.
You can check how long their website has
been around by doing a ā€˜who isā€™ search. I
just ran into an agency that looked fishy the
other day. They claimed tons of credits and
offered promises of fame.
I checked them out. Their company website
was created a few days back, hosted in the
Ukraine and registered anonymously. Unless
the Ukraine is the new Hollywood, Iā€™m
thinking, this may be a scam.

Empower Yourself with Color
Psychology
What does black means?
The color black relates to the hidden, the
secretive and the unknown, and as a result it
creates an air of mystery. It keeps things
bottled up inside, hidden from the world.
In color psychology this color gives
protection from external emotional stress.
It creates a barrier between itself and the
outside world, providing comfort while
protecting its emotions and feelings, and
hiding its vulnerabilities, insecurities and
lack of self confidence.
Black are the absorption of all color and the
absence of light.
Black hides, while white brings to light.
What black covers, white uncovers.
We all use black at various times to hide
from the world around us in one way or
another. Some of us use it to hide our
weight; others among us use it to hide our
feelings, our fears or our insecurities.
In color psychology, black means power and
control, hanging on to information and
things rather than giving out to others.
Black is intimidating, unfriendly and
unapproachable because of the power it
exudes.
It can prevent two-way communication
because of its intimidation. The salesman
wearing all black will make a lot of sales,
but no friends! It radiates authority, but
creates fear in the process.
Black implies self-control and discipline,
independence and a strong will, and giving
an impression of authority and power.
Black absorbs negative energy. It is useful to
carry something black with you to protect
you from harm and negativity when
traveling or when going about your usual
daily activities outside your home.
People who like black may be conventional,
conservative and serious, or they may think
Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle
of themselves as being sophisticated or very
dignified.
The color black is often seen as a color of
sophistication, as in 'the little black dress', or
'the black tie event'.
Affluent and success orientated women
often choose black as it can give an
impression of elegance, sophistication and
confidence.
Black is often associated with sexiness and
seduction, as in the temptress in sexy black
lingerie creating an air of mystery and
intrigue. It can also imply submission to
another (including a sexual partner), similar
to the priest wearing black robes in
submission to God.
Black is the end, but the end always implies
a new beginning. When the light appears,
black becomes white, the color of new
beginnings.
Teenagers often have a psychological need
to wear black during the stage of transition
from the innocence of childhood to the
sophistication of adulthood. It signifies the
ending of one part of their life and the
beginning of another, allowing them to hide
from the world while they discover their
own unique identity. It is important they go
through this stage but a worry when it
continues on into adult years if they
continue to wear black to the exclusion of
other colors.
Too much black can cause depression and
mood swings and create a negative
environment. Combined with white only, it
can create an argumentative atmosphere.
It is best to use some color with black to
lighten and brighten its energy.
If your favorite color is black, it will reflect
in your personality!

  • 25. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle Noneillah's Tips on ...How to Walk On The Catwalk? 1. Make sure you have the right heels. It is important to wear the right heels when you walking the catwalk runway; therefore, make sure you chose the correct heels. If you purchase new heels make sure you scratch the soles with scissors or any sharp object so that they will not make you slip on the catwalk/floor. Another alternative to prevent you from slipping on the floor with new shoes is to cover the sole of you shoe with masking tape for those who do not want to scratch up their shoes. If you are not use to walking in heels, you'll learn fast. If you do not have any heels, please do not wear flip flops. 2. Learn to stand like a professional model. Learning how to stand like a professional model you must have good posture. As an professional supermodel it is crucial to work on your posture by throwing your shoulders back and down, push your hips a little frontward so it seems like you are forming the illusion that youā€™re leaning frontward slightly, preferably leaning back in an unreceptive pose that you should be able to balance a book on the top of your head. 3. Place the ball of your foot down first (not the toes), then your heel, but keep most of your weight balanced on the ball of your foot rather than on the heel. You should place most of your weight on the ball of the foot because it will give you more of a graceful pace than an awkwardly stepped down heel- weighted walk would. Itā€™s virtually like walking on your tippy- toes, the way ballerinas do more dainty and natural. 4. Place one foot in front of the other (exactly). When modeling a model toes should face forwards. Your footprints should forma a crisscross if it is done rapidly; this gives the body that quality sway. Your ankles should never strike one another; it can be painful and may make you fall. 5 Make your stride look lengthy and controlled by lifting your legs almost in the same style a horse would while doing trotting leg extensions. For each step, you want to pick up your foot a excellent distance off the ground (with a bend in the knee) and then place it down a good distance in front of the supporting leg, with a stride longer than a normal walk would have. Don't make your strides too large as this will make you look awkward and ungraceful, but make sure you take large enough steps, rather than just baby steps.
  • 26. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle Remember to turn with your hip. It's hard to describe but easy to do. 6 Look straight forward; capturing the essence of the clothes you're wearing with the expression on your face. Make sure your focus point is on an object straight ahead of you (but don't stare at a viewer...that is creepy). Try to smile (smile with your eyes). This will give a fierce look to your face and to your walk. Keep your chin level and your eyes up - you want the spectators to see your face. Keep your head and shoulders still as your body moves down the runway. Your head and shoulder should feel a little like a sturdy coat hanger, and things should swing from there. Don't swing your shoulders, and don't over amplify arm movements. Do make sure, however, that your hips sway more than they would usually. This may take some rehearsal to look good. When the beats to your music are slower, sway your hips more and slow your pace. When you make your turn at the end, make sure your left foot is in front as you pause for a beat or double beat in your music. Your hips, shoulders, and feet should be facing the side of the runway as your head is turned to look straight on at the audience over your shoulder. After pausing or posing for a beat, pivot your feet back towards the curtain or glass, pick up your front foot first (your right foot), and continue walking. Make sure that your face is the last thing to turn away from the audience. 7 Fingers naturally fidget or fist up when you're nervous, but don't let them! It will be a bigger distraction than you realize. Just let them hang down, relaxed. Shaking your hands out before you walk will help your fingers relax and look more natural. 8 Develop your own signature walk. There's no straightforward formula for walking the runway, and what will ultimately make you stand out is not only how well you can move your body but also how much of your own personality you can inject into your performance to make it memorable. The best way to create your own exceptional style is to experiment, practice, and get feedback (even if it means taking some constructive criticism). 9 Most importantly, you must walk and strut your stuff like you know you're stunning and you know that you're burning hot, and all the young men out there are going to be going crazy when they see you!. A person with self-doubt and low self- esteem can be damaging and there's nothing prettier than a girl with confidence. Therefore, you must show high self-esteem and believe in your-self. As a model you or brand yourself and the runway, camera and you become one. Remember it is your world for the taken and the opportunity to showcase the designer clothing, yourself, your talent, beauty, swag, style and class. High self-esteem model is appealing and sexy to their audience. You do not want to be cocky to be sexy but love yourself and have confidence know you can do what it takes to become a great model. 10 You could practice strutting like you mean it by listening to your iPod or mp3 player or other musical device, put a hot song on and walk to the beat!
  • 27. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle Step gracefully, not like you're marching. ļ‚· If you should trip or falls, make sure you recover gracefully. smiling, and keep going as if it never happened. Nothing will demonstrate your confidence like recovering from an unfortunate event with grace and passion. Show people what they want to see, not what they don't ļ‚· To make your face look pleasant and yet sophisticated, try to "Smile", meaning 'smile with your eyes'. ļ‚· Videotape yourself walking, so you can understand what other people are seeing. Also, by keeping a visual record of your walk, you'll be able to trace your progress as you learn how to strut your stuff like a real supermodel would. ļ‚· Don't exaggerate by opening your eyes too much or lifting your legs too high while walking. ļ‚· Watch supermodels walk the walk. Visit fashion shows and watch them on TV. Who were the models that stood out the most? What made them unique? How was her walk different from the others'? Learn from the best so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel. ļ‚· Keep your posture "H2T", or Head to Toe; this means focusing on all parts of the body while modeling or walking. ļ‚· Strike a pose if youā€™re on an actual catwalk, it looks good. ļ‚· Most of all have fun with whatever you do. If youā€™re not happy, then everything you do is worthless.

  • 34. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle 10 signs of an acting agency scam Iā€™ve done lots of articles about this subject, but the plane keeps changing and scamming companies are getting more creativeā€¦. so lets run through the list of the signs to watch out for. They advertise! Casting directors and agents do not run radio ads, commercials or anything along that line. Most legit agents have their files filled with submissions for representation and more come in daily. They have no need to run commercials for newbies. Some agents will hold monthly open calls for new talent; those do not come with radio ads. You will normally have to check their site or call to get dates and times. They call you out of the blue Unless you are Brad Pitt, nobody will just pick up the phone and offer you work. Like everyone else, you need to do the calling and fight for it. Film producers and their casting directors do not troll through millions of online profiles looking for their next star. The people who are calling out of the blue are telemarketers posing as talent scouts trying to get you to bite. They guarantee you work No agent can guarantee you work because agents are not the ones who hire you. They will meet you at a hotel Agents and their talent agencies are professionals; they have offices and office hours. They try to rush you into something Anyone that asks for your answer on the spot or the opportunity will go to the next guy is worried that you may Google them and change your mind. Legit agents will not rush you into signing anything. The people that do rush you are normally sales people whose paycheck depends on the commission they get from you. They mention success stories Legit agents are NOT trying to talk you into signing with them; itā€™s the other way around.
  • 35. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle You should be trying to convince them to rep you. Testimonials and success stories are only found on websites trying to sell YOU something. Agents would not use such tactics. They tell you you need to take THEIR classes Agents are not schools. They expect you to do that stuff on your own. They can suggest coaches, workshops, etc. but they should be independent from them. You should never be writing a check to your agent for training services. There is a monthly membership fee Your agent makes money when you do. Their source of income should not be membership dues. That is not to say that they canā€™t suggest a paid casting alert service like actors access, you just should not be paying THEM monthly. They donā€™t really care that you have no resume, training or experience Scammers only care about your checkbook, not if you are qualified. They are looking for newbies because they are usually trying to sell services like overpriced classes. The last thing they want is someone with tons of training. Itā€™s your dream come trueā€¦ overnight Sales pitches tend to use lots of flattery and promises of fame, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • 36. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle How to Spot a Modeling / Acting Scam There are too many marketing companies that prey on a personā€™s quest for fame. These companies and their affiliates post casting notices, auditions and ads on Craigslist, and other free classified sites that refer to fake auditions and nonexistent castings for jobs that sounds real. Some also use ads on the radio and newspapers to entice people. Here is why they do this. Money! There are many different scams preying on people trying to break into the industry. Here are just a few. There are many companies claiming to be agencies that will claim to find you workā€¦ if you pay them. They donā€™t just come out and ask for money, they first get your confidence and reel you in slowly. Often times they schedule a ā€˜fakeā€™ audition (they donā€™t ask for money here to put you at ease), then they call and tell you ā€˜you are greatā€™ come in for a 2nd audition and sometimes a 3rd. Once there, they tell you ā€˜you are perfectā€¦ butā€¦ā€™ This is where the salesperson kicks in and tries to sell you on photos, portfolios, online portfolios, classes, conventions and anything else they can push on you. The audition was not actually for a real part in any production, it was to evaluate how much you will spend and how much they can sucker you out of. Then there are companies that donā€™t sell any services themselves, they get paid to sell your information to companies that have telemarketers and salespeople.
  • 37. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle The companies / individuals involved are paid to get ā€œleadsā€. Leads are people of a certain demographic such as child, teen, man, etc. that have an interest, such as acting or modeling, that they can later exploit by way of email spam, telemarketing, etc. After you answer a ā€œfakeā€ casting (much of craigslist was fake when I tested it), you will begin getting offers through email and sales pitches from telemarketers, all aimed at getting you to sign up for some service. Many times they call you and say they have an audition for you. They pose as casting directors, agents, etc. They try to get you excited and pump up your ego with flattery. Real agents and casting directors do not just pick a name ā€˜out of a hatā€™ and offer a high paying acting job to someone they never met or seen perform. When the telemarketers are done with you, your info gets sold to the next company and the routine starts again. Some internet marketers go as far as responding to your inquiry with a message that ā€œyou are perfectā€ or ā€œwill send the audition detailsā€, but firstā€¦ please go here and do this. This is a different type of scam and not that obvious to most. Those affiliates get paid to funnel people to other sites, usually sites that deal with background checks or security of some kind. Age and citizenship verification are a common ploy. I answered one Extra casting
  • 38. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle (sounded very real) that sent me to a site that does ssl certificates. Most people would not even understand that ssl certification is for online shopping carts and has zero to to do acting or auditions. The marketer just used that because it went along the lines of ā€œverify your identityā€ for the fake casting call and he gets paid 30 bucks for every FREE lead he sends to the company. He is scamming them too! I was looking for an audition, NOT a shopping cart! I am useless as a lead to them, but he still gets paid ā€™till caught. Then he moves on to the next company looking for leads. Hereā€™s how to spot the real castings from the fakes. Remember, real casting directors will always want a headshot, resume, acting reel, and for modeling things such as height, weight, size, etc. If all they ask for is an optional photo and contact info than beware. The scammers need the photo because the sales pitch involves a lot of flattery. The sales pitch is honed to make you feel special and chosen. Beware of anyone looking for ā€œnew facesā€. Everyone has a new face! You can walk out your door and find dozens in a minute! The word ā€œnew facesā€ is a red flag for scam. Beware of general needs such as ā€œany ethnicity, ages 15 to 75ā€³ thatā€™s almost EVERYONE! Real castings have specific needs (with the exception of extras).
  • 39. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle Beware of ā€œno experience necessaryā€ acting, dance and modeling takes experience and training. Really, who is hiring actors who canā€™t act or fashion models that canā€™t walk? The only exception may be neighborhood fashion shows and student films. Beware of ads with large pay. Ads that read like ā€œmodels and actors needed for ā€˜put in any large brand hereā€™ pay is $1200 daily and job is 4 to 5 daysā€¦.ā€ Yeah right, budgets that large get pros from agents, Not Mary and Jane off the street. Keep in mind that the SAG daily rate is around $750 and that is to experienced pro actors in a union that pay dues. Speaking of union ratesā€¦ Beware of ads that quote union rates such as $752 a day without mention of union. They are just pulling union jobs knowing you have ZERO way of getting the gig or worse, making them up and quoting union rates. Beware of anything that asks for lingerie, topless, etc. and request pictures from you to be considered. Use your imagination on what someone will do with those. Real casting directors will want head shots, full body shot (clothed) and measurements and ask you to try on their clothing at the audition, once one is scheduled. Beware of webcam auditions, Skype auditions and the like from people you do not know. There are legit ones done that way with experienced actors and scammers are playing on that. There have been many
  • 40. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle scams where ladies did those and were talked out of their clothing by people saying ā€œI need to see what you really look likeā€ and other lines. Those videos then get sold in other countries and end up all over the internet for otherā€™s enjoyment. Beware of Extras casting calls. Generally, large productions go through a casting company. Anyone posting things like ā€œExtras needed to make scene look ā€˜realā€™, ā€™Insert big movie name hereā€™ pays $300 dailyā€ is a scam. Large productions in small cities will post notices, but in large cities, they already have all the extras needed, unless there are some specific needs the extras agency canā€™t fill. Small productions will post calls but an extra does not make close to $300. Think more along the line of min wage or less. $50 to $100 may be more realistic. Do not sign up for any background or age verification site. Those are 100% scam, even though it seems free for you to do it, the scammer is selling your info to an unsuspecting company and you will never hear back about the audition. Beware of anything that says call some number, casting agents are waiting. Casting directors look at headshots and resumes than call back who they like. They do not sit by a phone waiting for everyone and their mom to call without even knowing if they fit. Basically, they call you if they like you.
  • 41. Ā© 2015 Noneillah ā„¢ Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle Beware of ANYONE that approaches you at a shopping mall to sign you up to audition for Disney Channel or whatever. Those are 100% fake. Disney does not work that way nor does any casting director. Those are sales people who are trying to get you in the door so they can then sell you stuff. There is no audition!!!!! You will be wasting your time going and many meetings later they will ask for payment for some inferior service. It takes many meeting because they attempt to gain your trust and have you invest your time. They try to make it look like they are doing auditions, then callbacks, etc. Not for a real role. It is for the opportunity to work with them and they make people feel special for being selected to come back so much. Fact is, they do that with everyone and the only thing they are evaluating is your ability to pay up. And lastly, beware of anyone selling anything. Remember, you applied for a JOB! Means, they pay YOU! How to protect yourself: Get an email, an anonymous one for casting calls that you respond to. That way if it gets spammed, you can change it easily. NEVER, follow a link to another site asking you for any info that you got in a response. Do your homework ā€“ Google company names. If you want to see any bad press you can Google ā€˜company name scamā€™ or things along that line. Check consumer report sites. Many try to hide the bad press and small

You can check how long their website has been around by doing a ā€˜who isā€™ search. I just ran into an agency that looked fishy the other day. They claimed tons of credits and offered promises of fame. I checked them out. Their company website was created a few days back, hosted in the Ukraine and registered anonymously. Unless the Ukraine is the new Hollywood, Iā€™m thinking, this may be a scam.

The color black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, and as a result it creates an air of mystery. It keeps things bottled up inside, hidden from the world. In color psychology this color gives protection from external emotional stress. It creates a barrier between itself and the outside world, providing comfort while protecting its emotions and feelings, and hiding its vulnerabilities, insecurities and lack of self confidence. Black are the absorption of all color and the absence of light. Black hides, while white brings to light. What black covers, white uncovers. We all use black at various times to hide from the world around us in one way or another. Some of us use it to hide our weight; others among us use it to hide our feelings, our fears or our insecurities. In color psychology, black means power and control, hanging on to information and things rather than giving out to others. Black is intimidating, unfriendly and unapproachable because of the power it exudes. It can prevent two-way communication because of its intimidation. The salesman wearing all black will make a lot of sales, but no friends! It radiates authority, but creates fear in the process. Black implies self-control and discipline, independence and a strong will, and giving an impression of authority and power. Black absorbs negative energy. It is useful to carry something black with you to protect you from harm and negativity when traveling or when going about your usual daily activities outside your home. People who like black may be conventional, conservative and serious, or they may think

The color black is often seen as a color of sophistication, as in 'the little black dress', or 'the black tie event'. Affluent and success orientated women often choose black as it can give an impression of elegance, sophistication and confidence. Black is often associated with sexiness and seduction, as in the temptress in sexy black lingerie creating an air of mystery and intrigue. It can also imply submission to another (including a sexual partner), similar to the priest wearing black robes in submission to God. Black is the end, but the end always implies a new beginning. When the light appears, black becomes white, the color of new beginnings. Teenagers often have a psychological need to wear black during the stage of transition from the innocence of childhood to the sophistication of adulthood. It signifies the ending of one part of their life and the beginning of another, allowing them to hide from the world while they discover their own unique identity. It is important they go through this stage but a worry when it continues on into adult years if they continue to wear black to the exclusion of other colors. Too much black can cause depression and mood swings and create a negative environment. Combined with white only, it can create an argumentative atmosphere. It is best to use some color with black to lighten and brighten its energy. If your favorite color is black, it will reflect in your personality!
