WHY NOT CONTINUE STUDYING IN INDIA?
Although I’m pursuing my Bachelor of Business Administration in India and numerous other universities are
offering business-related courses in my home country such as Kurukshetra University, M.M. (Maharishi
Markandeshwar) University, and Punjab University which offer flexible Courses related to business but getting
admission to the top colleges in India is very difficult for students who have scored anything less than 90%
because of high cut-offs and competition.
2. During my bachelor, I realized that by studying in India I will not acquire the skills that are required in the
Business industry these days so that’s why I have made up my mind to pursue my further education in a much-
developed nation. Moreover, the education system of our country does not provide facilities and any practical
exposure to students. The primary problem in the Indian educational system is that test scores and learning
retention are the only things that matter, not practical knowledge. In India, a student who excels in class but
performs poorly on tests or exams is viewed as having the below-average academic ability. Conversely, a student
who performs poorly on tests but earns high marks by just memorizing the material is regarded as bright.
Drawbacks in the Indian education system: -
No practical knowledge is being taught
Lack of good quality teachers
The SC/ST/OBC and General rule in India
Wrong learning method.
Teachers with poor backgrounds and a lack of funds.
No value to education
Therefore, I want to study in Australia because the overseas degree is considered better than Indian degrees as
India is a developing country and Australia is a developed country because foreign universities are
technologically more advanced than Indian universities. I can learn the latest technologies that will help me to
get good jobs in India. While pursuing this course from abroad gives a more comprehensive understanding of
the law and it also offers the opportunity to improve the knowledge of a specific domestic legal system. Apart
from that, Australia has the world’s leading higher education institutions and universities that offer cutting-edge
academics. However, in India, it is a real challenge to have an updated curriculum and the latest technology for
further studies. So, considering all the factors I preferred to study overseas for my higher studies.
WHY NOT STUDY IN OTHER COUNTRIES?
Studying abroad and getting an international degree has been a priority for so many students today. There is no
doubt that there are various countries that I can apply to for my postgraduate degree but there are various reasons
for not choosing the countries like the USA UK and Other European Countries.
USA: The high tuition cost is the main reason for not choosing the USA. In the USA, students need to take several
pre-enrollment examinations Test (GRE), SAT, etc. to get admission to USA Universities like as. And as per my
research, I found Bachelor’s degree in the USA needs 4 years to complete whereas an Australian Bachelor Degree
is of 3 years, which means I will be able to save I whole year duration as compared to Australia’s overall tuition
fee and living expenses are also very expensive in the USA. Moreover, the USA currency rate is really high for
Indian students (1 USA$ = 73.76 INR).
CANADA: Canada (1CAD=60.68) is a very cold country which makes it tough for the students to attend classes
because of heavy snowfall and I don’t want to miss any of my classes. In Canada, most of the courses are one
year of duration which will not give me the benefits of the course and I feel that one year is not enough to
understand the practical aspects of the subjects which may not include internships and workshops. So I would
prefer Australia As I can get these benefits in two years of course.
EUROPEAN COUNTRIES: The major reason for not applying to European countries is due to the language
barrier. On the other hand, the weather is not favorable as there is an extremely cold climate. European countries
were not on my priority list as European countries due to their language requirements it’s tough as a nail to learn
their language and takes exceedingly time-consuming and would cause language barrier despite knowing most
3. European Countries like Germany, Italy, and Norway provides free education to international students. Without
knowing their native language and knowing it would take ages to learn the language, free education did not really
captivate me. Similarly, Asian Countries like China, Japan, Singapore, etc. will arouse the language barrier too.
UK: The cost of tuition fees & living is high in the UK as compared with Australia. UK immigration frequently
amends its immigration policies and rules which make the system unstable and cause difficulties for international
students. UK currency rate is higher (1UK pound = 99.16 INR) than that of the Australian dollar (1AUD = 54.94
INR) which will surely make the living expenses and tuition fees in the UK more expensive than in Australia.
Provide examples of courses searched in US universities
On the other hand, Australia is one of the best destinations for an international student to gain a highly qualitative
education in prestigious and top-ranked universities which will benefit in future flexibility. Comparing the
exchange rate of Australia and other countries, Australia has a lower exchange rate which makes the fee structure
affordable for international students. Moreover, Australia’s policies are highly favorable for international students
which made me choose Australia over other countries. So, based on above-mentioned factors; I have opted to
study in Australia.
WHY CHOOSE TO STUDY IN AUSTRALIA AS MY STUDY DESTINATION?
Australia has the third highest number of international students, trailing only the United Kingdom and the United
States. According to a 2015 Project Atlas study, approximately 12.1 percent of all international students in
Australia are Indians. Moreover, Australia is a popular study abroad destination among Indian students. There are
numerous reasons why I prefer Australia for my higher education:
1. Globally Recognized Degree- Degrees from Australian universities are recognized globally. Graduates from
Australia have a high rate of success in finding jobs and other employment opportunities after finishing their
studies.
2. Education- Education in Australia is of the highest quality. They not only provide the best available facilities,
but they also provide a diverse range of courses to suit almost anyone and everyone.
3. Work Permit- International students have the freedom to work up to 40 hours per fortnight, which not only
allows them to earn money but also gives them hands-on experience and the opportunity to meet a diverse range
of people.
4. Multiculturalism- Australia's culture is diverse. It is primarily due to the Australian government's openness to
all cultures and the promotion of cultural diversity. In other words, you will never feel alone in this country
because you will meet and interact with people from your own culture as well as people from other cultures.
5. Cost of living- While living expenses in Australia are higher than in India, they are still lower than in the
United Kingdom and the United States. Students can easily find inexpensive housing, and the option of working
in Australia, is very convenient for them.
6. Job opportunities- While other countries may close employment doors after your education or limit you to
only a few professions, in Australia, the opportunity to work after education is vast and covers a wide range of
professions.
Some interesting facts about education in Australia
4. According to the United Nations Education Index, Australia had the highest score in the world in 2006, at
0.993.
Australia had 526,932 international students from over 90 countries in 2017.
An international student is more likely to enroll in a CRICOS-registered course (the registration that
indicates that the course and institution meet the academic excellence standard of the Australian education
system).
The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) helps international students whose education providers are unable
to fully deliver their course of study. https://www.tps.gov.au
The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is health insurance arranged to help the hospital as well as
medical costs. https://oshcaustralia.au
Australia provides the world’s most strict protection for international students through EDUCATION
SERVICES FOR OVERSEAS STUDENTS (ESOS) ACT 2000. The Act ensures that international
students receive the same standard of education as Australian students.
https://internationaleducation.gov.au
All these factors motivated me to pursue my further studies in Australia.
REASON FOR CHOOSING GRIFFITH COLLEGE TO GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY
Griffith College offers a wide range of study options, most are one-year study programs that connect directly to
your second year at Griffith University
While finalizing Griffith College/University I searched for other reputed universities as well. But there were many
factors due to which I opted to finalize the Griffith College/University for my further studies. I scrolled the official
websites of La Trobe University for my desired program (https://www.latrobe.edu.au/courses/bachelor-of-
information-technology) and James Cook University
(https://www.admissionsdirect.com/coursedetails/australia/james-cook-university/bachelor-of-information-
technology/MTkxNDc=/NzE5 )
Western Sydney University (https://www.westernsydney.edu.au/future/study/courses/information-technology-
courseS etc. The most highlighting feature is that it aids their students with the financial assistance in the term of
the scholarship. Moreover, the campuses of the university are at such places which can be easily reachable by
their students with the help of good transportation facilities in the areas.
There are also some other major reasons why I choose Griffith college offer the best pathway for study options
to me for continuing my degree at Griffith University and it offer courses related to my stream.
A 3-year degree requires students to earn 240 credit points. In most cases, our diplomas are worth 80 credit points
towards this total. That means most Griffith College students are able to progress directly to the second year of
their degree at Griffith University Furthermore, it has seen phenomenal growth in student numbers, new courses,
new campuses, infrastructure, and reputation in recent years, establishing it as one of Australia's truly great
universities.
WHY BRISBANE?
I found Brisbane is a suitable city that will give me a friendly environment. I will study in a multicultural
atmosphere as there are students from different backgrounds and countries. There are the best transportation
facilities in Brisbane, as well as accommodation, which is also affordable.
ACCOMMODATION IN BRISBANE:
5. As I searched on the internet there are so many options available for international students for Accommodation
like Homestay. Hostel Facility, Apartments, College Hostel, Study center. Also, I can search for living
arrangements on various search engines such as flatmates.com, amberstudent.com, urbanest.com, etc. which
provide accommodation within AUD 180-250 per week that varies with or without a meal.
WHY STUDY Diploma leading to Degree?
One-year diplomas are structured to provide the same amount of credit points as the first year’s degree study at Griffith
University.

INCENTIVES TO RETURN TO HOME COUNTRY
I am a very homely person with strong intentions to become a financial support to my father in the near future. I
am being sponsored by my father and uncle. They will play a sponsor’s role for me throughout the course of time
in Australia. Since my childhood, my family is supporting me in every sector mainly in education, and also will
8. be supporting me for my further study too to get an international degree. My father strongly believes that
investment in education never goes waste and quality education has always been their utmost priority.
I am bound to return back to India as soon as possible because I want to support my father and also to fulfill the
dreams of my mother to become a successful professional identity. I have been born and brought up in India only.
I am extremely attached to the roots of my country and also my family who have been supporting all my decisions
and funding my education, I would like to remain with them only. Furthermore, In India, there are very bright
opportunities for people with an international degree. Comparatively higher pay scale is given to them. So, I
would like to pursue my career with an international degree in India only. In addition to this, my family is
financially well settled and we would like to remain settled in our home country. So, these are the reasons which
drive me to come back to India after the completion of my studies. Moreover, there may be much fewer people
with those type of skills when I would return home. My experience and technical skills might be at a premium,
meaning that I can expect better-paid jobs, faster career advancement, and sort of opportunities that would never
have been afforded to me if I had stayed overseas. So, I am sure that after receiving the degree from the prestigious
Griffith University of Australia, I will be able to get better career opportunities, here in India.
