1. Clay and Canvas Saving Angelo Elementary School Art Program
Clay and Canvas a non-profit organization created by Playon donated $10,000 to Angelo
Elementary School.
Playon is the nations leading maker of crayons and other art supplies for children. Recently
Playon launched a program called Clay and Canvas. Clay and Canvas is a non-profit program
that will give grants to public school with underfunded art programs throughout the nation. Clay
and Canvas goal is to promote the values of art education by changing the culture of underfunded
art programs.
While Clay and Canvas plans to donate more than $1.25 million dollars to 100 public schools in
21 cities and affecting the lives of more than $40,000 children. Angelo Elementary is pleased to
say that it has received a $10,000 donation from Clay and Canvas. This makes Angleo
Elementary the first school to receive a grant from Clay and Canvas.
Sue Preston, Angelo Elementary School only Art Teacher has worked with the schools limited
supply lacking to show student’s how to sculpt and paint their own work. Preston thinks Clay
and Canvas donation will help the schools art program. She said, “Will enable Angelo
Elementary School to buy enough art supplies for 150 students to take art classes each year for
the next five years.”
