2. Welcome to Yakima!
• The Palm Springs of Washington. Or is it?
• I think many people underestimate Yakima
County.
• Yakima has a vast amount of nature and places
to explore.
• We have so many activities at our fingertips.
From skiing at Whitepass, to walking on the
Greenway. The options our endless.
• Yakima is a local place that has a thriving local
community. This creates a great atmosphere.
Currently Yakima, Washington is one of the
most thriving places for Brewery’s in the world,
if not the nation.
3. Why do we love Yakima County?
• Yakima County is a
fascinating place to live. It
consists of a large group of
community oriented persons
that all focus on a central
idea.
• The idea of farmers and
consumers being connected
in the marketplace is a reality
in Yakima.
7. Our community
together
• The downtown Yakima Farmer’s market is one of the
best display’s of our community together. All
community’s, all walks of life, congregate on Sunday
to make their way to the boutique stands
throughout downtown.
• I think this display of community not only creates a
common bond, but it also establishes a presence of
Yakima’s emerging culture.
• We have fresh produce stands, pastry’s, and other
cultural good’s that all represent our Yakima
agricultural community.

8. Central Washington State Fair
• I think if we are talking about the agricultural community, it is only
fair that we mention the Central Washington State Fair. This fair has
been bringing the Yakima county, and community together literally for
years.
• Yakima, Washington can accredit the Central Washington State Fair
committee for it’s successes.
• The fair committee and others have outlined Yakima community
ranchers and farmers as the heart of our city.
9. Yakima is known for FRESH.
• I think it’s funny. I lived in Western Washington for 2 years. They covet
our produce. Less than a mile away from my house on the westside
was a fruit stand similar to what we see here. Only instead of big
words proudly exclaiming “PRODUCE”, ”APPLES”, ”FRUIT”, that we see
locally I saw “FRESH YAKIMA PRODUCE”.
• Whether or not it was actually fresh produce, we can assume that
other community’s actually our jealous of our sustainable climate
and ease of access to fresh produce.
10. Besides Fruit,
• We are best known nowadays for our Hop industry.
• We have the best craft brewers in the region, forerunning the
industry to produce the best craft beers.
• We are also known for our grapes.
• With some of the best known winery’s in the world, it is a wonder
that Yakima isn’t more of a landmark on traveler’s destinations.
18. I think Yakima is a
welcoming place to new
Atmosphere’s and business
concepts.
19. Yakima is a great place to live.
• As you can see, I’ve laid out several points that outlines the strengths
of living in our wonderful desert community.
• We are a community based on healthy and activity.
• We have plenty of options when considering entertainment and
dining.
• Yakima is situated right in the heart of grape and hop country.
20. YAKIMA, WASHINGTON is full of

21. I think Yakima, Washington is misjudged or
underrated.
• I have lived over on the Westside for a few years. I know what they
think about eastsiders, or “us”. I’m here to proof that misinformed
rumor wrong.
• We are a thriving community, even more so than the Westside.
• There is so much to offer from athletic and recreational activities to
historical significance.
• Yakima, Washington is the heart of Washington State. Yakima
resident’s have a heart like no other, and our sense of community is
unbreakable.
