Italian cuisine offers much more than pasta dishes.
The following are classic Italian dishes worth trying.
Cacciucco
Traditionally served with crusty garlic bread, cacciucco
is a Tuscan seafood stew comprised of squid,
octopus, and a variety of fish. The tomato-based dish
is enhanced with dried red chilies and sage.
3. Italian Dishes with No Pasta
Risotto alla Milanese
Requiring much attention, risotto alla Milanese has a
rich yellow hue that comes from the saffron. Its lightly
bitter taste is offset with floral flavors. For added
richness, raw bone marrow can be added when the
rice is done cooking.
Braciola
Also known as Italian beef rolls in tomato sauce,
braciola uses lean cuts of beef to encase grated
cheese and herbs. The beef rolls also contain raisins
and pine nuts as well as bits of prosciutto. Following a
quick sear, the beef rolls are placed in a tomato sauce
to simmer until tender.
