Course Description
A worldwide operating integrator requires a new network strategy to integrate its European hub into its worldwide operations.
Student teams are provided with all relevant data and are supposed to develop a proposal for this network redesign exercise.
The following aspects must be considered:
-European service levels
-Aircraft payload / range charts
-Aircraft utilization
-Usage of ground service vehicles
-Network cost structure
-Shipment revenues
The necessary analyses rely mainly on the usage of the tools SAS and AirSched.The students' teams have to present their
work progress regularly within team meetings
Course Objectives
It is the intent of this course to introduce students to project work. The participants have to learn to organize themselves within
a team structure, to distribute work, and to manage time- and deadlines. A new network strategy must be developed, the
operational feasibility must be analyzed, and a final proposal must be developed. The results must be presented within a final
steering committee meeting
Course Outcomes
Primarily students should develop the strategic and analytical skills which are required within projects. In addition students
should also learn the necessary soft skills, to work effectively within a project team to qualify for a role as a team member
within their future business life
