2. Current Status
Hospital Buildings with medium and large HVAC systems and in particular the
UTA and fans represent the BIGGEST SLICE OF INVOICE
ENERGY. The weight of the air conditioning systems and air quality in the
energy bill can exceed 70% of the total bill. The remaining energy consuming
systems are lighting and hospital equipment in addition to electricity, consume
gas, water and other sources of energy.
A good part of hospitals have already installed or plan to install cogeneration
plants to supply the lower cost of electricity and heat. Another feature that
although not forming part of the energy bill of a hospital, can and should have its
controlled and recorded delivery, are the medical gases and in particular the O2.
They are so necessary:
improvement measures to be adopted in buildings and investment in more energy
efficient equipment.
It is fundamental:
Intelligent systems of continuous monitoring with proactive ability to act
automatically.
These systems allow us to take action and permanently adjust the systems to the
needs of the target space while maintaining the standards of comfort and
environmental quality desirable. They allow you to control, accounting and
allocating consumption, detect and act on abnormal deviations.
3. Why does it happens?
It is common to find problems in HVAC systems operation which cause
in one hand uncontrolled energy consumption and in other hand
difficulty in offering conditions of comfort and air quality.
What are the reasons?
human factors (difficulty ..)
- Instruct employees in maintenance and operation activities;
- Keep ranges of values to be met for the maintenance and operation;
- Establish efficiency targets in contracts of maintenance and
operation;
- Upgrade the HVAC system documents to maintain continuity and
reduce costs;
Equipments
- Obsolete equipment that hinder the ability to draw a map of the
power consumption to locate and determine the inefficiencies and
potential savings;
- Ability to automatically turn off the air conditioning equipment and
auxiliary (unnecessary periods).
Change set points according to the exterior and selectively conditions
in various parts of the buildings;
8. LIGHTING CONTROL
ANDMANAGEMENT
Monitor and manage the
lighting fully configurable
and in accordance with
natural light conditions,
opening hours, presence of
people, etc.
