This document discusses a potential "Epic Pluvial" masking water insecurity in the greater New York City region based on 500 years of drought history in eastern New York State. It presents tree ring chronology data from 32 tree species that shows a long-term trend of wetter conditions in the Northeast U.S. since the 16th century. This long hydroclimate record provides important historical context for water management and planning for the New York City region.
